Great for the kitchen,

Easy to install and a convienient size. We enjoy the large screen-good picture. The ability to go from 4:3 to 16:9 format is great. The only shortcoming might be that the sound quality is a bit tinny, but volume carries well. There are speaker outputs in the back however, so we are planning to add speakers. We are enjoying this unit and hope it continues to perform well over time.

The speakers are "ok"; the screen is hard to view from all angles, but it's as expected. The only surprise was the dimensions. While the front-to-back dimensions were listed correctly, the documentation fails to say they want 1-2" open behind the thing to plug in the cables. That results in the unit sticking out beyond standard cabinets. I bought a L-shaped F connector so I could snug it up to the wall and keep the front flush with the cabinet.

This was a good purchase. TV has a nice clean picture and the sound volume is good but lacks bass in the overall sound (which is why i gave it 4 stars). I love the fact that when you close the tv, it closes so the screen is hidden unlike audiovox tv's. Simple to install. This Coby tv was $100 cheaper then other models that didn't fare as well in my opinion. The screen size and crisp picture along with the price sold me and I would recommend this to anyone looking to buy an under the counter tv.

Amazing!,
This review is from: Coby KTF-DVD1070 10-Inch TFT Under the Counter DVD Player with TV Tuner (Electronics)
For what I wanted this tv for it has been wonderful. It is cable ready and I have it hooked up to cable and therefore the picture is really great for a 10" screen. The screen is very clear and therefore the picture is very fine. The dvd and the radio work well and even the clock and so does the cute remote that comes with it. The swivel/put-a-way screen is another benefit and it has been especially good for us because our kitchen table is right under it and we can have someone sit there and not hit their head. The kitchen in my house is quite small so the 10" is great but if you have a huge kitchen you may want to have a larger screen and go to something else.
When hooking it up, you will need to get an extension "L" hook for the back so you can get it close to the wall. I have some other Coby products and have found them very fine for the money.

I've had this unit for the last two weeks and I love it. It fit great under my cabinet and looks great. I love the swivel screen and I've had no problems with the volume. I use it all the time. I've become quite the chef now that I have this T.V. in my kitchen. I would highly recommend this unit.

When we first looked at a 7 inch screen for this unit, we had to go with the 10 inch. What a difference. We had cable run through the kitchen, and I have to say, I was so happy with the system. Great sound for a small unit. Excellent picture also. I highly recommended this unit for the kitchen.

We decided to "live with" this unit awhile after purchasing it before submitting a rating. While we were not expecting component level quality we were expecting more than what this unit has to offer. The field of usable view of the screen, both horizonally and verticaly, is rather limited. While the screen does tilt left/right and up/down, if you adjust the tilt either up or down while it's tilted left or right, the horizontal plane is affected, to the point where the screen is at a very unnatural viewing angle.
The sound quality (which affects its use as TV, DVD player, CD player and radio) is subpar and rather disappointing. The FM radio reception is not very good, either, and unfortunately it has a non-standard FM antenna jack so you can't easily plug in an antenna booster, which was rather annoying. The above said, it does have one of the largest screens available at this time for this type of unit, or at least that I could find and I did do a fair amount of searching on the Internet. The Sony unit is much more expensive and has an amazingly small screen; not sure what the Sony marketing folks were thinking when they decided to go to market with their unit. Sony is usually ahead of the market with these sort of things, but not in this case. The fact that at this time another manufacturer does not offer a better unit, which to me is really odd, is the only reason I gave this three stars rather than the two it otherwise deserves.

I wish I could tell you how great this TV/DVD is. I struggled for an hour trying to install it. It isn't so easy. It would be a perfect fit for standard cabinets, HOWEVER, there's no room for the connections on the back. Be prepared to mount it so the face is 1/2" beyond the cabinet face.
When I finally got it installed and connected I discovered it was DOA (dead on arrival). The Amazon rep was very pleasant about paying for the return shipping. I will take a chance and order another -- assuming lightning won't strike twice. PS: The replacement is now installed and working fine. The extra 3" of screen size improves the picture very much. The sound is not Bose, but what would you expect? Adding the FM antenna will require dismounting and reinstalling -- even with the extra 1/2".

I was hesitant to purchase this item, because of the poor reviews I had read about it and I've not had prior experience with any Coby products. But, it seemed to be exactly what I wanted and the price was right, so I ordered it. It was easy to install(so my hubby says), very compact, stylish and really looks sleek in my remodeled kitchen. It has been "on" almost non-stop for days already, as our family lives in the kitchen! So far, everything works just fine. The sounds quality, reception and TV are great. Everyone here is 100% happy with product.

Just meets expectations, but does not exceed them,

Unit works well and as advertised. Due to size and mounting template, I did need to install it with about an inch sticking out in front of the cabinet. Sound quality quit tinny. My biggest complaint is that when put into TV mode or powered up in TV mode, the picture is stretched abnormally to wide screen proportions in order to fill the screen and you must press a butten on the remote every time to restore a "normal" looking standard TV picture. Other than that the unit works well, the screen is large for this kind of thing and indeed does save counter space by being able to swing the screen up out of the way when not in use.
