It's a cheapo, but it gets the job done (if the job is playing music and listening to the radio),

Picked this up on clearance at ShopKo for [...]. It plays video, but you have to convert it in the Coby software and the quality is quite crap. For music, pictures, and text (haven't done this yet) you can just drop files into it with Windows Explorer (and I'm sure your Macs out there will handle it like a flash drive as well). Not bad if you use WinAmp, either. That being said, it seems to process process one file at a time and can be slow and tedious when uploading. Play back is simple and the sound is nice. Ditch the stock head phones and get some inner ears. FM Tuner is simple but effective. Picture support on it is OK, but the screen is tiny and on the grainy side. But hey, [...] is not a bad little beater player. At least the OSD is in color and if you use the Coby software you can tag tracks with album art. If your expectations aren't out of the ball park it's not bad.

There are several little quirks that make this MP4 Player a pain in the neck. It plays music OKAY. That's about it. There are very little instructions included with it, except for the PDF located on the actual device. However, nothing tells you on the box or anywhere else that it's there.
The music quality itself is okay for a $30 player. I find problems occasionally when browsing music, though. When I select some songs, it can take over 30 seconds for it to start playing. I don't know why. The MP3 tags have no album art, the files are a standard 192kbps bitrate, like everything else I have... It just doesn't like certain songs. Another annoying part about this player is that every time you plug it into USB even just to charge, it has to separately refresh the music library. This can take over 3 minutes depending on how much music you have. I haven't tried videos on it because the display has tons of dust that has worked its way under the screen. I can hardly see this player in the day light due to this, but it's fine in dim or dark conditions. I also could't get the text viewer to work. Overall, this player just isn't worth what you're paying for it, not to mention, the software is by far the worst I've ever seen. Don't waste your money. Go with something like the SanDisk Sansa Clip+ 4 GB MP3 Player (Black) for a bit more ($40). Although you don't get video on it, this one doesn't play video well anyway.

if you want something that gets the job done for the cheapest price. this is it. you really do get what you pay for. putting songs on, and deleting them, takes a lifetime... its a real hassle unless you never plan to change songs. it also doesnt have a shuffle mode. personally, i would rather have bought another ipod or even a zune instead of this. i use this mainly as my gym player so i switch songs pretty consistantly. otherwise, yes, its cheap and it plays music and videos. no music sound settings or anything. sounds pretty decent in my headphones though. i use it in my car and it sounds fine also. biggest headache is just getting songs on a off. battery life is pretty decent. i was able to get 8 hours straight at my old job. that was with the volume cranked up on it and constantly pressing buttons on it. it does have a hold button with the other models didnt, and it does not have a shuffle setting.
