I found this in the review section!!

I buy at least one MP3 Player per year, because they come out with a new model, about once every year, and I like to get what is current.

The touch screen operations however leave a lot to be desired with much hard tapping needed to move things along.

I've owned this player for several months and have used it primarily in the gym and I'm very happy with it's performance. After using the touch calibration I have no problem with navigation and the volume switch on the side of the player makes for easy volume adjust. I downloaded several movies in avi. format and transferred them to my player it took minutes. I'm not sure how those other reviewers did it but I didn't use the included software, I dragged and pasted. The video resolution was great for a 50 dollar mp3 player, makes the time on the cycle go quickly. I divided music into several folders with titles and am quite happy with performance. Great player for those who wanted a little more but don't feel the need for ipod prices. I plug mine into my computer at work every night so I really don't know how long the battery life is.

I bought this item several months ago after my second iPod broke down once again, and haven't regretted it since! The touch screen may be a bit tricky sometimes, but it more than makes up for that by having none of the problems iPods are saddled with (constant non-syncing with iTunes, taking forever to eject from computer, etc), and it DEFINITELY has a much better price. Best of all, I can drag and drop any music or videos I want directly into the Coby, which shows up as a regular hard drive when connected to my computer.

The downside is that its "Favorite" folder (roughly the equivalent of iTunes' On The Go playlist) clears almost immediately after you turn it off or let it go into power save mode. You also cannot grab files from folders (playlist) and put them in the favorites, you must go into the All Music section and sort through the whole library.

But like I said, I'm still much happier with it than with my old iPod. No worries about disk fragmenting from disconnecting too soon from the PC and the Coby doesn't get scratched and banged up as badly as iPods do. The screen seems much more scratch-resistant than an iPod's screen.

And at such a low price, you're not making a big investment if you choose a Coby over an iPod!

This device is easy to use, provides very good sound quality and feels as if it is made with quality materials. My 11 yr old daughter had the player up and running in minutes. We had ordered another device of comparable price but returned it due to poor materials and construction but that was not the case with this product. Since owning this player, we've had to reset it on a few occasions but no music or files were lost. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an inexpensive mp3 player but who doesn't want to spend a fortune on of the name brand devices.

It works fine, it just takes FOREVER in Windows Media Player for it to sync songs onto it. I was doing about 50 songs at a time, and it took almost an hour. But it plays really well, and has good sound quality. If you compare the touch screen to an ipod, you'll definately find yourself dissapointed. It's difficult to scroll through songs without clicking on one, you have to push a little harder to get it to play things. But overall, it's definately worth it for the price. It will be perfect for my little sister's birthday!

I've had my player now for a month and thus far I am quite pleased with it.

So here's my breakdown on everything about this little gadget:
1. Battery duration of play - manual and features say battery play time is 52 hours.

MP3 - I can't offer much info on this since I've never left it running for that long. However, I can listen to my .mp3's all day long on a single charge. The battery meter shows nearly empty at end of day, so I doubt that 52 hours is accurate.

Video - I've fully charged my coby and hit play. I was able to watch the entire movie of the Proposal before the battery was drained. So you're looking at roughly 90 minutes battery life for pushing out video resolution. Not the best, but for the price not too shabby.

Radio - Oddly enough, I hardly use it. I've got too many favorite songs to listen to on .mp3's but it's a great feature for when I'm just in that certain, "what's going on in the world" mood. So glad they added this ability to the unit. so battery life??? Umm.. i'd say probably same as mp3.

2. Size - Casing size is slim and portable. Nice sleek black front and shiny silver sides. overall, this little bad boy fits in my shirt pocket, pants pocket, palm of my hand. It's the perfect portable size.Display: TFT
Display Size: 2.8 inches
Width: 2 inches
Depth: 0.4 inches
Weight: 0.54 pounds

3. Quality -

Video - Niiice. Now remember, your video quality is greatly dependant upon the actual resolution of your video file. Fortunately, with the small 2.8 inch screen everything is so compressed, that it's really hard to have a bad video image. The image is bright, sharp, just imagine your flatscreen tv, and your watching it from another room.

All of these people who left good reviews must have received something different than I did, because this player is just awful. When I searched online just before Christmas for a decent mp3 player to use for my commutes to and from school, I came across this Colby Touchscreen player. I read the reviews and thought "Oh, this sounds perfect". Little did I know what I was getting myself into.

First of all, this player cannot hold a charge worth crap. I only use it a maximum of 2 and a half to 3 hours a day, and at the end of every day it needs to be recharged. And that's just playing music, nothing else. I can't even play videos on it because it will go from fully charged to dead in roughly 10 minutes, and that's if I'm lucky. It would be marginally less inconvenient if it came with a wall or car charger, but it doesn't.

Secondly, the touchscreen is atrocious. Not only is it very difficult to scroll through music, I have to press the button I want five or six times before it registers. I would rather take out my laptop on the bus or train and listen to music on it instead of messing with this low-grade piece of junk.

I plan on looking for a replacement at my next financial convenience, and I would not recommend this player to ANYONE. So if you are looking for something priced decently and works great, move along because you won't find it here.
