5.0 out of 5 stars Colby Mini Radio
It's great. Lightweight. However, you can only go forward with changing stations. If you go by a station you cannot go back but have to go to the beginning on the FM dial and scan upwards again. Occasionally, station signals will fail and the nearest station will come on. Perhaps it may be where I am located inside the health club. Don't know....but the radio serves the...

1.0 out of 5 stars Circuit design problem
It keeps trying to jump up to the next frequency. Sometimes it will jump back down again, but other times it has to be reset.

I have used scanning digital radios before (cheaper than this one) and didn't have this problem. At first I thought it was a reception problem, but when it happened on strong signals as well as weak, and seemingly at random, I knew...

I have used scanning digital radios before (cheaper than this one) and didn't have this problem. At first I thought it was a reception problem, but when it happened on strong signals as well as weak, and seemingly at random, I knew there was no hope for this radio.

I like the neckstrap and I use it with a different radio.

1.0 out of 5 stars Cheap, broke in 3 months, November 9, 2006

I experienced the same station-jumping that other users compained about. It just won't stick to a station. Also, mine broke after three months of light use. You get what you pay for.

1.0 out of 5 stars Too cheap to work well, June 1, 2006

The sound is a bit distoted, radio reception is OK. But the headphone cable is too short. The most anoying is that there is now way to keep the unit from changing stations at the slightest touch, CDs and iPods have a hold switch, this item keep going ot the next station with no way to lock it to a station. Also it does not store presets.

1.0 out of 5 stars It's JUNKY., December 12, 2011

This item is cheap for a reason:
The volume, at its highest setting, is extremely low, and NO radio stations come in clearly.
I'm very disappointed, but should have known this could be the case when I was paying so little for it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst POS I have bought in a long time, September 28, 2011
This review is from: Coby Mini FM Scanner Radio with Neck Strap CX61 (Electronics)
It sounds pretty good as long as I didn't use the included ear bubs. But, you can only scan up and when you turn it off (which is very difficult as the volume control is inset so much) is does not come back to the same station. It changes stations when you unplug the ear bubs. After about 5 minutes o fuse, the on-off switch in the volume control became intermittent. The clock only works with the radio off so if you want to find out the time, turn the radio off, back on, and reset the station. POS is going back to the store. I have no idea what the battery life will be as I am not keeping it long enough.

Stay away from purchasing this item. It sucks!!!
The look of the design is neat.
Other then that the when u tune into ur favorite station and put it in it your pocket it automatically starts scanning to the next station and its annoying that it does that and the scanning only goes fwrd not backwards St it takes forever to get back to ur station ...
This item is a POS!!!!
Stay away!!!!!

Bought this with some other purchases to get free shipping. I use it in my garage for when I am doing woodworking or out washing the car. The only complaint I have is that it often loses the radio stations when bumped. As long as it is in a static position this little guy is perfect. I have had this for ~2 years and only replaced the battery once and I use this for 6-7 hours a month. If you need something that can pull radio stations and has a long battery life this is for you. If you want to use it for exercising or when its being jarred a little I think you should buy something a little more expensive than this.
