I've always liked Coby products, but this one deserves no stars at all. This cd player is very inexpensive, and it only runs on batteries. It does not have an anti-skip feature, and it is extremely light sensitive. In order to have continuous play, it must be shielded from any environmental electrical current, sunlight, lamp, light fixture, flash, beam and ambient lighting. I recently bought three of the players (at that price, I figured I'd have a backup once I dropped it a few times), and I've completely "used up" two players. Each one completely died from less than 2 weeks of use. It seems the abuse of using the player in a lit environment ruins the electronic mechanism!

The product cannot be operated by AC converter; it operates by battery only. AMZN should specify this. Had I known, I'd have purchased something which had the specified capacity.

I purchased this particular CD player for my son's 3rd birthday. Being that he is still pretty young, I decided to go with one of the least expensive players, knowing that kids his age are prone to either losing or breaking items soon after they are played with for the first time. When we put a CD in the player we realized that it didn't work, rather it would say Error. We figured that it was the CD itself that wasn't playable, so we tried another...and another...and another. All of the CD's we tried would read Error on the player leading us to believe that the CD player itself is the problem. I have requested a refund and will not be purchasing another CD player of this kind. I definitely wouldn't reccommend this product.

This is a great first CD player! My son is 4 and it works great for him.

I bought 3 of these when they were on sale for under $5.00. I use them in my kindergarten classroom for a listening center. Five months later, they have held up pretty well. I use rechargable batteries in them and they last me all week (the players probably get about an hour or two of use each week). The kids dropped one and the eject button got jammed, but I was able to pop it out. They do skip quite a bit if moved, so I would not recommend it for a on-the-go player, but for sitting & listening they have been great. However, I probably wouldn't pay more than $10 for it.

I bought this item brand new. It was used ONLY at home, and the unit was treated like fine china (I know these cheaper units are delicate). After approximately TEN HOURS of random play over a nine month period (batteries taken out when not in use), the unit broke down (laser would not read the CD and shut down). No service from store: send it back to China or whatever planet it came from for repair or replacement (YOU pay postage & insurance). Into the garbage it went. Buy a different brand.

Did not like. Very poor quality. Opened it to place a cd and it would not close, the button stuck. Did not bother to return, holding it closed with a rubberband and went to Bestbuy and bought a better cd player.

It was broken before I could use it and I mailed it back immediately to the owner and have not received a refund as of this date.

For the price this portable DVD player is well worth it, & I'm enjoying listening..................
