I bought the Coby 15" LCD HDTV/DVD player in October. I was thrilled with the price but nervous about the lack of stellar reviews. For the sake of context, I mounted mine on a wall in our breakfast nook so that I could watch TV while cooking in the kitchen.

Unfortunately, my instincts were correct. This TV is barely adequate. First, the remote is abysmal! I would love to talk to the person who designed it. Does it really save that much manufacturing money to make all of the 24, yes 24, control buttons the same size: small little dots, in columns, with 4pt font?? It takes me five minutes to find the play/pause button. And rewinding, forget it. Once you find it the rewind button, (which, incidentally is entitled "F.BWD"- really?) you're too far into the movie for it to be worth going back. RWD was too hard? Or the popular <<? Either would have been better than F. BWD.

Second, the sound quality is awful. The volume is fine when I can find the "mode" button to switch it to TV mode. However, when I watch a DVD I have to turn the volume to 100% in order to hear any dialogue. Oddly enough, previews before and some of the music tracks during films are at the correct volume. So if I leave the volume at 100%, I often find myself startled at super loud parts and then straining to hear the majority of the movie. Not fun when chopping onions with a sharp knife...

Finally, the picture quality: the resolution isn't that great to begin with- par to the price- but if the sunshine is near the window, or when it's dark in the room any slight movement to the right or left can destroy your view of the screen.

In sum, I'm very disappointed. If you're in the market for a small TV/DVD player combo- wait a year until better brands come down in price and go for a nicer one. This one is a waste of money.

I bought this TV for use in my RV. I chose it because I saw the same unit at Bed Bath and Beyond where several were used in the store to play promotional and advertising DVDS. All had great, bright, clear pictures. The one I received had an awful picture. The colors are dim and smeared. There is no adjustment which results in a bright picture. The picture is only viewable from directly in front of the screen. A few degrees above, below or to the left or right results in the picture disappearing. Don't buy this TV.

Didn't know much about this brand, and got mixed reviews, but I am so glad we purchased it. We bought the mounting kit with it for a total of about $189. My husband installed it under one of our cabinets in the kitchen and I absolutely love it!! I use it to play DVD's, Music CD's; hook up to our computer as second screen, and even plays my IPOD music with USB!! Was surprised about the last one!! Doesn't mention this in the manual but it does... The file structure is a bit messy to comprehend but it plays the songs. I am even having my husband hook it up to our Satellite for cable TV. (Gotta keep up with the news while drinking coffee!) Is a very good TV for our kitchen and couldn't pass up the price...Display is also clean and crisp. Of course you have light glares, which you would expect on any LCD screen.

I purchased two of these TV's, one for my bedroom and one for my office. I have never had a problem with either one of them. The color is excellent, the picture is excellent and the reception is excellent. I have had them for over two years and they are still as good as new. The adjustments that we made when the TV's arrived are still in place and neither of them have ever required an additional adjustment. I am purchasing one for my neice's combination birthday and Christmas present. She is in college and now she will not have to share her TV with her roommate. The reception incidentally using ear phones is also excellent. I have never heard of this brand before I purchased these but I give them high marks for these TV's and have not hesitated in purchasing another one for my niece. Incidentally we also enjoy using our movie CD's and once again the reception is excellent.

TV works good. DVD works good. As a 2nd monitor works good. The speakers are ok, about as good as my portable dvd player.

The first one I received the picture was barely visible. Returned it and the second one I received worked good.

I wanted a tv for my kitchen counter-not too big and not too small-- that had a dvd player in it. This tv meets my needs. I do not have it connected to cable, and I just get my local channels, which is enough for me. I am very happy with it. The color quality is fine, and the price was good.

This TV is a piece of junk!! If there was an option to select neg stars...I would have!!! I purchased this TV in March, recieved it in April, and in July it quit working. I emailed Amazon, they said I was past my 30 day return, and to contact Coby directly. I did that and they told me to clean it.....I have had other DVD players for 10 years that I don't have to clean. This is NOT a cleaning issue. So, I asked them what happens if the cleaning doesn't help....they said I can take it to a repair shop. I asked if they were going to pay for that....they said no b/c I am outside their 90 day warranty. That is completely ridiculous.....so basically Coby only promises that their products will last for 90 days......this was a $170 TV.....and I hardly used it.

DO NOT BUY this TV or anything else from Coby....all they care about is the money....otherwise their warranty would last long and they would make better products. This TV wasn't even worth $50...and I got less use than that out of it.

As the title suggests, this was our first flat screen purchase so when it came we had a learning curve. First, out of the box, the picture appeared to make people fatter and shorter, and the sound was very poor. Both were bad enough to make us really think about sending it back. After playing with the picture settings that at first glance were hidden, the picture is great, clean, clear, and people are normal sized. The sound was a different problem that was solved by plugging in a set of discarded computer speakers. So, we now have a fun TV with a DVD for our grand-boys in our breakfast room that we can enjoy too, and the price from Amizon was the best we could find online or at local stores.

This little tv is great for any small room. Mine is in the bedroom, where it is used all the time by my grandkids. They play their DVD's and watch cartoons.

Looked for a 13" TV with DVD and missed out. Surfed the internet and up came Amazon. Found the best deal for a 15" TV w/DVD for half the price of other locations. Bought it immediately and I am very pleased. It is for my kitchen where I spend a lot of time - starting @ 6:30 AM getting ready for work - the news & weather are a must to start my day.
