I purchased this player 3 weeks ago after having tried several other inexpensive portable DVD players and eventually returning them all due to malfunctions.

I wanted a player for my 7 year old daughter and thought I'd give this one a try since it was designed with kids in mind and was in our budgeted range (cheap!). I've been very impressed with the unit.

Included in the box was the player, an ac adapter, a car adapter, a battery pack that doubles as a table stand, a remote with batteries, stereo headphones, and a carrying case.

I've used the player with DVDs, music CDs, and picture CDs and it works fine with all of them. From what I've been able to determine, it only displays wide screen mode, so some of the pictures and movies seem stretched, but that hasn't bothered my daughter at all.

Battery life lasted about 2 hours with video, about 2.5 hours with video off (listening to music).

The only cons that I've noticed with the unit, other than the inability to turn off the wide screen video:

1)The carrying case does not work to mount the unit on a headreast in the car. It is totally enclosed and is strictly for carrying the unit around. The power adapters do not fit in the carrying case with the unit.

2) The screen does well when looking at it from different angles from the sides, but you quickly lose the image when you look at it more from the top or bottom.

3) Several other players that I tried would pick up where you left off in a movie when the unit was restarted - I couldn't find that feature on this one.

4) Typical of all cheap portable players, the sound through the speakers isn't good - though it is louder than any of the other players I tried. Sound quality through the headphones is great and it even sounded excellent when I hooked it up to decent quality computer speakers.

Overall, I am very pleased with this player. I seems very durable compared to the other units I tried and is great for keeping kids entertained in the car on on an airplane. The screen is small at 4.5", but its image is as good as the larger units I tried. This unit is small enough that kids can just hold it in their hands - though a car mount would have been a nice feature. The unit is not much larger than a portable music CD player, though it is thicker and heavier due to the large battery. If you're looking for an inexpensive DVD player, I highly recommend this unit

I've has several personal DVD players. I am not rough on them, but I do enjoy bringing them along when I road trip or travel. None of them have been as sturdy as this little gadget!

Since this DVD player was made for a child, it is made to endure rough traveling. It fell off my desk (onto a carpeted floor) but CONTINUED playing the DVD without a skip or hesitation!

I've had this player for two months, and it has withstood everyday use and plays DVD's without a problem. The screen may be small, but people are watching their iPod's nano-screens, and this is a IMax screen in comparison! 4.5 inches is DIAGONAL. The widescreen dimensions are lovely when watching a widescreen DVD. The picture quality is pretty good, but there could be more options for color on the player.

Overall, this is an excellent DVD player and hold up well for travel.

I purchased and used this item for 2 months. It is a really nice 'time pass' DVD player. My son loves it. Technically, not the best resolution and sound but very good for a compact player. The only problem with the player is that there is no way you can change the 'wide screen' mode. My old movies and few cartoon movies appear distorted.

This is a great product for kids which is the purpose I bought it for. My three year old Grandson can easily navigate its controls and it is rugged enough to withstand reasonable child handling. I comes with the necessary accessories plus a handy carrying bag. I am completly satisfied with this product. Stan

We bought this last Xmas and after 6 months it turns on, but no longer reads any CD or DVD.

Complete waste of money.

As an "on-the-go" busy mama of a 2 year old, this dvd player has been a life-saver at times. I read many reviews about portable players and took a chance on this one and I am so glad that I did. It's rough and tough, having been dropped a few times and still plays without skipping a beat. It's small enough for a diaper bag or purse and the picture quality is great. For our lives this dvd player is perfect with no draw backs.

Used only once and now completely unusable! Contacted Coby numerous times and kept getting the same scripted response that was not helpful in resolving the problem. Terrible customer service support!

i got this item for long car trips to the greandparents house & hockey road trips. it skips back to the main menu if touched. also starts playing when standing up but then skips back to start/main menu as well. a waste of $$$

Great DVD player! My daughter loves it. It is really durable and has taken a beating or two already. Still works wonderful! It's so nice because the screen doesn't flip up so there is less she can break on it. I would defintely reccomend this for littler ones!!

I love this small portable dvd player.I have a 2 1/2 yr old autistic daughter and this is the only thing that seems to calm her down when i am out grocery shopping or at a docs appt or just running errands.She sits in her stroller holding it in her lil hands and giggles as she watches her dvds.She has dropped it once and nothing happened to the player at all.I restarted it and it played perfectly fine.Yup folks its kid proof and she sure proved it! The picture and sound is great.It holds a 2 hr charge for the dvd and a 4 hr charge for just playing cd's(music) it comes with a car charger witch is a must since she loves this product.My doc seen it and is buying 2 of them for his grandchildren.Everyone admires it.Buy one!!!!
