4.0 out of 5 stars DVD review
Works well. Only 2 minor issues: First is the buttons on the front of the player are not clear re: stop, play, ect. which in the dark while traveling is frustrating as you push in trial & error. The remote is direct line of sight only. The second is the wireless headsets. They have a button on each that scans 4 frequencies for the sound connection. It is very easy...

4.0 out of 5 stars DVD review, January 11, 2007
This review is from: Coby TF-DVD7060 7-Inch Portable Tablet Style DVD Player with Wireless Headphones (Electronics)
It is very easy to push this button & lose the connection while simply putting the headsets on or if a child adjusts theirs without realizing it until you question why you can't hear the movie. You have to keep pushing the button til the sound comes back clear. Also there was interferace one time by a powerful radio station in the major town we were in. On the other hand, the volume control is not as easy to change, that's a good thing with kids, and can be set & left at an appropriate level.

3.0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointed, December 14, 2006

This review is from: Coby TF-DVD7060 7-Inch Portable Tablet Style DVD Player with Wireless Headphones (Electronics)
After waiting for over 6 months for the release of the Coby TF-DVD7060 with wireless headphones(it was supposed to be released last summer, according to the Coby website), I was very excited when it finally became available.
Before purchasing this product, I had own the Coby TF-DVD7050 (very similar DVD, but without the wireless capability), for several months and had been very satisfied with it. So I thought the TF-DVD7060 with the wireless capability would be an improvement right?
Well, not so much...
The main problem is that the wireless capabilities are extremely limited. The Coby TF-DVD7060 has a radio transmitter, and the headphones have a radio receiver. The product manual says the reach of the transmition is up to 6 feet, but in reality the headphones don't work if the distance from the DVD player is more than 3 feet. I guess it is OK for someone that wants to use it in the car or while sitting on a desk, but that's it. I usually use my DVD while on the stairmaster, or doing chores around the house, and because of the limited reach, this product was useless to me.
So I returned the product, and with the difference in price (~$50) I bought a bluetooth wireless headphone kit (that comes with a transmitter), and stuck to my "old" TF-DVD7050, making it "wireless". Hopefully Coby will realize that the radio technology doesn't work, and move to Bluetooth soon. Only then I would be willing to give their new model another try.

1.0 out of 5 stars BUY SONY --DO NOT BUY COBY, April 3, 2008
This review is from: Coby TF-DVD7060 7-Inch Portable Tablet Style DVD Player with Wireless Headphones (Electronics)
UNIT WAS OK WHEN IT WORKED --ABOUT TWO MONTHS. RETURNED UNDER WARRANTY. I PAID TO SEND IT TO COBY AND THEY CHARGE $18 FOR RETURN POSTAGE. NO PROBLEM UNTIL..... THEY SENT A LESSER MODEL 7050 - WOULD NOT SEND EQUAL MODEL UNLESS I PAID TO RETURN IT. I MENTIONED THAT WARRANTY REPLACEMENT SHOULD EQUAL OR GREATER VALUE (WOULD YOU WANT A 25" TV IF YOUR 46' WAS SENT IN FOR REPAIR) THEY STATED THAT THIS IS THIER POLICY. COBY PRODUCTS ARE CHEAP YES. THEY ARE ALSO JUNK AND THE COMPANY SUCKS .. SONY IS SOOOOOO MUCH BETTER IN TERMS OF QUALITY AND SERVICE

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for the money, December 14, 2006
This review is from: Coby TF-DVD7060 7-Inch Portable Tablet Style DVD Player with Wireless Headphones (Electronics)
I bought this because I wanted a dvd player that could EASILY tap into my car's audio. With the built-in FM transmitter, movies sound great! The tablet style design makes this unit compact and stylish. I have no need for the wireless headphones, so I haven't even tried them yet. The controls are easy to learn and use. The viewing angle is better than I anticipated. No complaints.

1.0 out of 5 stars Coby DVD 7060: Don't Consider One!!!!!, July 6, 2009
This review is from: Coby TF-DVD7060 7-Inch Portable Tablet Style DVD Player with Wireless Headphones (Electronics)
Bought it. LCD screen has never worked properly. No matter what button you push, including LCD On/OFF, nothing will keep the LCD screen operating for more than 30 seconds. It's not worth the aggravation to return it under warranty (see other reviews).

Consider anything but a Coby 7060, including buying nothing!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Piece of junk, February 6, 2009
This review is from: Coby TF-DVD7060 7-Inch Portable Tablet Style DVD Player with Wireless Headphones (Electronics)
This was our second COBY Portable DVD player and they both barely lasted 6 months. The first lasted 93 days (just long enough to nullify the warranty) this one lasted almost 6 months. The only time we used them were on long road trips - so used barely once per month. After every use I repackaged everything back in its original box - so absolutely very little wear and tear. Despite such great care, these horrible products simply stop working. The first one simply stopped playing altogether; this one works very sporadically; it makes horrible noises and is just junk. Spare yourself the hassle, buy a more reputable brand. When you call COBY customer service, their wait times are long and you have to pay to ship them the product but worst of all neither the rank and file staff nor the management seem to care that their products are garbage.

2.0 out of 5 stars good DVD player, but..., November 26, 2008
This review is from: Coby TF-DVD7060 7-Inch Portable Tablet Style DVD Player with Wireless Headphones (Electronics)
This is generally good DVD player, but for that money you can find many other players with a lot of other features. Mine wireless headphones were totally unusable since it was picking up some hum noise in a gym where I was using it, so I recomend older version of this player without it!
I myself picked up other COBY player TF-DVD7377, and I am happy with it.

2.0 out of 5 stars lousy product, November 22, 2008
This review is from: Coby TF-DVD7060 7-Inch Portable Tablet Style DVD Player with Wireless Headphones (Electronics)
The wireless headphones have really lousy sound. Very bassy - until they quit working altogether after 30 days. Oh well, I bought new headphones.
The whole thing quit working after 92 days - 2 days after the warrenty lapsed. How much will they charge to fix it? Who knows. After paying for shipping, it probably isn't worth it. I wouldn't buy a Coby again. I took a shot after having a Coby product before thinking that maybe it was a fluke, but I won't try another one.

2.0 out of 5 stars Simple Design Flaws detract from this product, July 27, 2008
This review is from: Coby TF-DVD7060 7-Inch Portable Tablet Style DVD Player with Wireless Headphones (Electronics)
I recently received my Coby player and found some things that were not very well thought out in the overall design. Here are the Pro's and cons that I found.
Cons:
1. DVD load mechanism. This is a significant flaw as it does not allow you to easily load a DVD when vehicle mounted. The mechanism requires that you remove it from the holder, open it up, put in the DVD, close it then re-insert it into the holder. Very poor design that is a royal pain to change DVDs if the car is moving.
2. Manual AV/DVD switch. On the left side of the unit is the sliding switch which turns on the player to one of two modes, DVD or AV. The manufacturer should have gone with an electronic switch vice a manual switch as it is not easy to ensure you have the DVD mode since it is in the center of the selection slide and there is no audible or 'feelable' indication that you have it in the correct position. This becomes more inconvenient when you are sliding the player in or out of the holder.

Pros.
1. Good picture quality. The picture is clear and easy to see.
2. Sound control easy to use. Spinning wheel sound control is easy to adjust.
3. Compact slim design. Overall design is especially well suited for vehicle mounting and allows the player to sit flat against the back of the headrest. This keeps it from being kicked or jostled if you have a toddler in a car seat. The fold out one I had was prone to being kicked by my 3 year old.

Overall the player is a good buy for the money but I couldn't rate it higher as the two design flaws are significant in detracting from its ease of use.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bit Let Down!, July 4, 2008
By
Jump rope mom (Canton, GA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Coby TF-DVD7060 7-Inch Portable Tablet Style DVD Player with Wireless Headphones (Electronics)
Product arrived quickly and in good condition. The mounting bag was great and I really like the appearance of the whole thing. The problems was with the DVD player. It was so loud when playing a disc, you could hear it making a loud buzzing sound while the disc was spinning. The headphones also had terrible interference and we couldn't use them in the car using the FM tuner which was why I purchased this item. I sent it back right away and Amazon quickly refunded my money.
