Some tech info,

Very solid little TV. I bought it for my sons room and I'm really pleasantly surprised. The tv construction is solid and the performance is respectable. The remote is a little plasticy but has taken some abuse and is still working fine and looking as good as it ever did. (The last might not be a compliment.)
Here is some technical info I manged to dig up after a painfully long search. Hopefully it will help someone else if I leave it here. TFDVD2274 usb/sd functions: MP3 Supported Sampling Frequency: 8/11.025/12/16/22.05/24/32/44.1/48 KHz (MPEG1/2/2.5 Layer 1/2/3 ISO/IEC111723,ISO/IEC13818-3.2) WMA Supported Sampling Frequency: The same as MP3, WMA8/WMA9 Nonsupport WMA9 lossless,WMA9 Voice,WMA9 Professional or DRM Supported Bit-rates: Can support 5~320 kbits/s for constant bit rate. up to 384 kbps for variable bit JPEG MPEG1/2/4 USB can support 3.5Mbps; SD Card can support 6Mbps;

It worth the price!
I bought this TV more than a month ago. I ordered with amazon and arrived surprisingly fast, two days and I selected free-shipping method. I tried the TV, and sadly, I got no sound, tried everything, I put external speakers and got sound. I called Coby Tech support and they told me to return the item. I did, and I got a replacement very quickly. This one is working perfectly and I love it, is not a big TV but has a lot of features: 1. Very good sound quality, the volume goes from very quiet (sometimes you want to watch TV in the night and want to watch TV without waking your partner and be able to listen what is being said,here you will find the volume in between) to very loud. 2. The picture quality is great. Watching a movie is a good experience, you will not struggle trying to watch scenes with very low light. 3. The DVD player works excellent, so far I haven't had any problem trying to read a disc. 4. The USB port is definitely a plus. You can put in your flash drive with pictures, mp3, and videos. I have a TV series in .avi format in my computer, I transfer my files to my flash drive and play them in the TV. Just select the DVD source in the TV, plug your drive and a menu will pop-up, select the type of file that you want to see (three boxes for audio, picture, and video appear at the bottom of the screen), and the file that you want to play. It's easy. I tried to play mp4 files but didn't work, it said "unsupported format". 5. Is not heavy, looks good in any room. I have no cons for this product..... Well, now I do. After a few months with this TV, enjoying movies and using it as a second monitor for my laptop the bad things started to happen. I got a new movie form netflix and so excited I tried to play it. Hum.... something is not right EVERYTHING looks blue. Only the DVD output. When I switched to TV everything looked fine. I tried to change the video configuration but the tint control is not accessible. I started to use my laptop as the DVD player to watch movies, it wasn't that good because suddenly the TV is changing to TV mode, going on mute, like a ghost is controlling the TV. It wasn't the remote because I removed the batteries. Now, not only the DVD, the TV is also blue. I tried to returned it again to Amazon but the return date expired few months ago. With Coby claim the warranty is not an option because it's only 90 days. I still say it was a very good TV but now in blue it's useless.

Great picture and sound(better with added speakers) perfect for small apartment, kids room, den or large kitchen. Makes a perfect second monitor for a PC. The remote is fair could of been better made and more functional.

We purchased this set to replace a Sanyo 15" flat screen. The Sanyo worked well but we needed to increase screen size as eyesight diminshes with age. As said before the remote is quite poor and takes forever to react. The picture is of lesser quality than the Sanyo.
It will work out ok for $229 freight paid but I should have read more reviews instead being impulsive to buy.

The picture is perfect, sound is good, and the DVD is great. Easy set-up. The only complaint is changing channels takes a few seconds and the remote has to be pointed directly at the green light on the TV in order to use.

Great Picture, Great Features. Plays almost every type of file from USB port.
As everyone states...the remote is pretty bad and you can't use a universal remote for a replacement. It also takes about 15 seconds to power up (seems like forever compared to other TVs). Overall it is a good value and you can't beat the price!

NICE MONITOR,
This review is from: Coby TFDVD2274 22-Inch 720p Widescreen LCD HDTV/Monitor with DVD Player and HDMI Input (Black) (Electronics)
NICE MONITOR, GOOD CRISP AND CLEAR VIEWING. ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT THE REMOTE IS VERY BAD. DIFFICULT TO CHANGE CHANNELS AND MAKE OTHER CHANGES UNLESS YOU ARE DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF TV AND POINT AT SPECIFIC ANGLE. OTHERWISE, GOOD VALUE FOR THE MONEY.

It's an awesome price for everything that you get and it performs well when you consider that expectation. There are a few quirky things:
- The menu is oddly complicated (and I am a techie) - The remote control truly stinks! It is a confusing layout plus it just doesn't work so well unless you hold it just perfectly. I have played DVDs, USB files, connected to an antenna for receiving HD channels and have no complaints about it's performance here.

I rarely write reviews but I (almost) always read them before I make a purchase......this purchase was the exception to my rule. I have never been more disappointed with an electronic purchase in my life. If the bottom line for you is price, please, please, please consider an alternative. My kids have been without their tv/dvd for going on 2 months now and this is why--I purchased this t.v in Aug. 09 for my children's room, primarily to use for dvd's. I figured having the television component would be great as they got older. If only I had not let the (great) price sway my decision from going with a better known brand for a few bucks more. The problems started 24 hours after I set it up. The remote (without warning) stopped working altogether. It was not dropped, mishandled, etc. I called the manufacturer and was told to send a $6 money order to them and that the turnaround time would be 6-8 weeks! I had no choice so I sent it hoping 6-8 weeks was the timeframe they gave everyone. I was wrong. Week #7 the new remote arrived. Mind you I could only start the dvd and let it run all the way through because there was no way to fast forward, rewind, view special features, etc. without the remote. It was simply a design flaw. Once the remote arrived, it worked perfectly. No more problems with the remote. Dec 09 (4 months later) I put in a dvd, I heard a click and nothing else. It would not recognize that a disc was even in the player. I read the manual that recommended turning the whole unit off for 30 minutes to allow the unit to reset itself. I turned it off for 30 minutes, then 1 hour, then overnight with no success. I called the manufacturer because it comes with a 1 year warranty but was told since the problem was not with the remote control or the power cord, the warranty had expired. Parts and labor was only covered for the first 90 days! I was smart enough (that's all relative) to purchase the extended warranty offered by the place of purchase (a different online electronics retailer) so I called to find out where I could take the unit. They told me this manufacturer did not have any repair centers in the entire state in which I lived (major metropolitan area in the east). I was told that I had to ship the unit to them for repair and they WOULD NOT cover the shipping costs. I took the unit to one of the two places STIPULATED only to be told it would cost ME $82.93 to ship 'regular ground.' I opted to take it to a local repair shop thinking it may just be cheaper to have it fixed myself. Another 1 1/2 weeks goes by only to be told by the repair shop that the entire dvd module simply gave out and needed to be replaced. I REPEAT--I have never been more disappointed with an electronic purchase in my life. If the bottom line for you is price, please, please, please consider an alternative. My kids have been without their tv/dvd for going on 2 months now! Depending on what the manufacturer tells me, I will probably end up buying a better brand for a few extra dollars!

I called customer service for a code for a universal remote. None available. Could give the tv five stars but its like a great door with a key that might/maybe/sometimes works. Lots of others to choose from.
