This little TV works perfect for any bedroom, which is where I have mine. It is black and glossy so yes you can see handprints but that is easily fixed! I have had this for a couple months now and it works like a charm. No dead pixels or anything. Overall sound is pretty good for a small television, more than what I was expecting at least. I bought VGA cable and 3.5mm audio cable so I could hook the laptop up to it and watch movies and it works perfectly!! Also got a cheap HDMI cable for the PS3 and it works as well with the television. Everything looks better in HD and 1080p. The remote kind of stinks since it is a little on the slow side but it will do. Loving the television and am glad I bought this one, I was not dissapointed at all.

My wife loved the gift and she has not left her room since it has been installed!

The Colby 24 inch has a nice picture. Tha sound is very tinny. I turned the bass all the way up and the treble all the way down. Still has a tinny sound.

I just ordered this Coby 24" LCD TV yesterday. I have to say, I am impressed with the picture quality this TV produces. As a sight impaired customer and the sharper resolution makes it possible to see more detail further away from the screen. In addition, the game play with the XBox 360 is absolutely life like. Playing Ace Combat: Fires of Liberation, it feels like you're cockpit!

I received this TV in a timely manner and it worked for maybe 3-4 days- great pic, I was stoked. Than came the trouble, sometimes it would turn on, sometimes it took 10-15 tries to get it to turn on, sometimes it would turn on-than turn off 2 seconds later, blek, whatever it's not working as it should. After a week or two of this frustration I contact customer service, who was very nice and chipper, about the issue and was informed that they would not take back the TV without the original manufacturer's box. flat out. Of course I didn't have it because in those halcyon 3-4 days I thought the TV worked. Their solution was to buy ANOTHER tv, than return the broken one in THAT manufacturer's box. Well, what if this new tv didn't work as well? than what huh? An endless loop of TVs?

I guess the lesson is to NEVER throw anything away and I am giving it 2 stars because I take a little responsibility here. So that is my advice to anyone buying this TV, keep the box forever. Now I'm taking it to the local shop to get fixed and I haven't even owned it a month. LAME.

Video attached showing exactly what is wrong it no longer switches on. Which is not something I feel any consumer should have to be concerned about only a year into purchase. I paid roughly 250 bucks for this television a year ago as a present to my darling wife and never suspected there would be any problems, the sound was not all that great but the television was for watching in the bedroom now it will not turn on. An old tube style television for the same price could last 10 years or more without any glitches or foul ups which is a better investment. I feel cheated, and apparently looking over the latest reviews others do as well--the warranty has already ended on it and the box it came in is long gone. I recommend everyone who has purchased this television keep your receipts.

I am printing out all the consumer information online available on this product, I have also saved all my e-mail reciepts--don't know what I will do with it yet but I'll tell you this much I always try my best to be a smart consumer. I don't invest in disposable cups for the same price as decent drinking glasses that are reusable so why should I invest in a throw away television which I expected to get more use out of than this? There comes a certain level of expectation with major purchases that they should last especially in our current national economical situation. For example I purchased a quality computer that is now over ten years old, that investment is still paying for itself and should last another 3 or 4 years with a few small extended upgrades--I will have gotten my moneys worth. I purchase a new car I expect it to do me service for at least 5 years and resell it to someone else who is going to get another possible 5 years of service out of it--lemon laws protect people from these issues in automotive sales.

I do not completely fault Amazon for this--they are the middleman, but the manufacturer Coby should bare more responsibility for an obvious lack of quality standards for releasing this product to market without more stringent testing.

i bought this for my teenaged son for xmas - so far, so good, he plays games online as well as watches cable tv with it. he really likes it so for the money its a good deal, it has a very nice picture and i used the hdmi cables for his xbox and he says that made the picture quality much better than the standard red, yellow. . . cables. i'm not electronically savvy and neither is he so we're both happy.

It does what is says on the box, and it looks great. The picture quality is comparable to other HDTV models in this price range.

I would not pay more than $200 for this TV, however--and would advise waiting for a deal on a better model. The main problem is that the speakers are on the bottom and back of the TV--no speakers on the front! So the sound quality is tinny and rather poor. Not horrible for standard TV watching, but action movies or music: forget it.

Otherwise, a decent bedroom or office TV.

Whatever happened to products that lasted? We used this monitor for a few hours once a week for ten months, then it died. Somehow paying $10 an hour to use a monitor seems a very poor value...

Got this tv for my son for Christmas but it didn't work. Had to ship it back and get another. Poor quality control to ship something that doesn't work.
