5.0 out of 5 stars Nice MP3 player
I always believe at some point the quality of Chinese products can be trusted, and when that happens their products would be better than those expensive ones of the same kind. I can't say for other models of Copy MP3 players. But for the one I have now, I can say that it passes the point already. 1.0 out of 5 stars Don't get this
The program it came with wasn't worth the trouble. Using Windows Media Player, coby would not accept many songs, I don't know why (they were mp3s). Player froze several times after I first turned it on and needed a tiny pin to reset it. Touchscreen itself is annoying, lights that show the "buttons" don't stay on and don't have an option to, fingerprints have to be wiped...

I always believe at some point the quality of Chinese products can be trusted, and when that happens their products would be better than those expensive ones of the same kind. I can't say for other models of Copy MP3 players. But for the one I have now, I can say that it passes the point already. It has not only a nice looking with all functions operational, but also more features that the expensive popular models do not have, such as ipod nano. For example, ipod MP3 players can only play video or movies in mpeg4 formats. But this one can play video files in rm, rmbv, avi, and flv formats. You just download movies or videos from internet to the player. It will play. No need of conversion or any extra work! It costs less than 1/3 of those expensive popular models. It would be perfect if it has a larger screen, such as 3".

4.0 out of 5 stars A Nice Player, May 18, 2009
I wound up buying this player because my last one had too little space, and I'm quite pleased with it.

It's a good quality player, and seems to have a nice, long battery life. I knocked off a star for two reasons; firstly, the touch screen is VERY sensitive. If you so much as brush against it whilst it's playing a song, it will press a button. Thankfully, there's a locking button that turns off the touchpad temporarily.

My second reason was due to it not having a battery bar when plugged into the computer. It's impossible to tell whether or not it's been fully charged while it's still plugged in.

Otherwise, it's a good player, and I'm quite happy with it.

Player froze several times after I first turned it on and needed a tiny pin to reset it. Touchscreen itself is annoying, lights that show the "buttons" don't stay on and don't have an option to, fingerprints have to be wiped off often for touchscreen to stay responsive. This morning (the day after I first got it) the player would not turn on. The computer recognizes it but the player itself stays dark and unresponsive. The reset button will not work now, nothing is helping to turn the player on. I am returning it and do not recommend that you buy this product.

4.0 out of 5 stars After some issues..., December 28, 2009

This review is from: Coby 2.4 Inch Touchpad Video MP3 Player 16 GB with FM MP725-16GBLK (Black) (Electronics)
After some initial headaches, I've come to love this thing. I had to get used to it's touch screen sensitivity (very) and keys to switch from one area to the next. But I like it quite a bit. I have about 1500 songs on it right now. The FM radio isn't all that 'wow' but I don't use it much anyway.

1.0 out of 5 stars junk, May 18, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
update: well almost a year later and the thing took a dump on me, its done will not turn on or charge, the computer recognizes it just like the other reviwer here said but the mp3 player itself will not do anything. junk should have just spent the extra 50 for an ipod.

this is a great option for half the price of an ipod 8gb, and works as it is supposed to to an extent. some minor issues is the touch pad can be too sensitive at times and not enough so at others. the screen is hard to see in daylight, turning the unit on is a minor annoyance because you have to hold the sliding switch down for like 6 seconds, which is a pain. a second or two would be more efficient. sometimes when you load the music menu it repeats all the options 3 times when you can only select the first section of options. and on occasion when you power off the unit the screen flickers repeatedly for about a minute. all in all the unit is full of small glitches, but it still plays music, so as far as I'm concerned it isn't bad for the price. also, the control keys light up white, don't let the picture mislead you like it did me. the red would have been a much more appealing asthetic.

4.0 out of 5 stars Almost a Sony, October 13, 2009
This review is from: Coby 2.4 Inch Touchpad Video MP3 Player 16 GB with FM MP725-16GBLK (Black) (Electronics)
I bought the 4 gb version of this for 50.00 at a local discount store so at 80.00 this one is a real bargain. It lacks only an adjustable EQ. To be fair, I bought their 8 gb 3inch touch screen mp3 player but after charging couldn't even get it to turn on, so quality is sketchy and calls the whole line into question, but as long as it does what it says it does and as long as it keeps getting better I liken Coby to Hyundai; gets better every year and quality shows. Again, it is not quite a Sony, but they're getting there.

3.0 out of 5 stars conversion problems, April 14, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I finally found a go to format i could convert videos too. its wmv 320 x 240 and i customized the audio to be 96kb. did with freemake. it list all these files that can be played but it seems i have to convert the videos to this format. I've tried plenty of other formats but they didn't work. the video is clear and looks pretty good but it still flickers during fast movement on some videos.

I wish i would have bought something that i didn't have to convert anything. conversion is annoying.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great product for the price, April 9, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Great Mp4 player...much cheaper than other players in it's class. With all of the functions it offers, I am very pleased with my purchase of this for my daughter. The battery life is ample, sound quality good. Ear buds that come with it should be replaced with more comfortable ones, but for the price, beggars can't be choosers. Overall, I recommend this product...good value.

3.0 out of 5 stars not what i expected, February 7, 2011
This isn't what i expected, the only videos this mp3 player seems to play low resolution you tube videos. i was hoping i could play larger divx files but seems to be unable to.

if i was looking only to play low resolution videos listen to music or radio this would be perfect, i like the text option as well/ i have had trouble trying to convert a high quality divx file about 700 megabytes to work right. but it plays low quality videos very easily. maybe its because the video converter is free, but the sound turns off like every 20 seconds than it comes back. I'm not even exactly sure what kind codecs it works with, but i'm having a very tough time converting videos.

now i just use low quality you tube videos and just slap them on w/o converting they seem to just work fine.

update********* i played an avi video don't know what kind of avi but it looks wonderful and the audio is in sync as well. didn't convert this time. if only i didn't have to convert anything. maybe i just need a better video converter.
