This player was exactly what I was looking for - something relatively inexpensive on which I could upload audio books for on-the-go listening. I do not have a lot of sit time but enjoy books. This fit the bill. The greatest pro to me is the fact that each track not only has a timer that counts up the time, but this player counts down as well simultaneously. That way if I want to re-listen to a track, I know how far I've got to go back. Most players just have a counter that counts up the time without letting you know how much time is left on a given track. The biggest con - I bought a candy apple red player. Although it is nice and pretty, the quality of the finish is poor. It scratches easily. Even just a bit of pressure from winding the cord around the player has nicked the finish. Considering the pro, however, it's something I can live with.

I LOVE this little player, BUT . . . 1) it is NOT an mp4 player. it does play mp3. It is NOT useful as a video player unless you can get your files in .mtv format 2) battery life & charging can be a bit odd - it says charge overnight connected to a computer that is on & booted, 3) had to return one of these because the power switch failed, just would not turn on or off 4) price shot up $20 in just one month, I paid $34. 5) iTunes does not see the player, so you have to add files to it just like a thumbdrive, which is fine, but to get the Artist/Album info right, you have to go through a little dance. . . that is, after you have dragged your files to the player (only a couple at a time, or it chokes), then launch iTunes and drag the songs into a new playlist, where you edit the song info. Then dismount the player and shut it off so it can update its library. After you turn it back on, the song/album/artist info will match whatever you had put into iTunes. If you do not edit the info, it will display many as "Unknown Artist" 6) it is very picky about the kind of files, for example, you have to make sure that the pictures you drag into the Pictures Folder are .JPG and never .JPEG. because .JPEG do not play and give a "file error", same as if you drag over .aiff and forget to convert to .mp3. 7) This model MP610 is much much better than the MP600. Maybe read the manual before you buy [...]

Well at first, this whole thing was a bit frustrating because it took a couple weeks to receive but when I am glad that I did. The red is very nice and the sound quality is very good. The built in program is relatively simple and makes music transfer easy. On the negative note I found making playlists difficult. The screen scratches a bit easily. Overall though, its fun and works great!! THANKS!! :)

So, I bought this MP3 player for myself. At $36 and in the color I wanted, this is the perfect device for my needs.

It's perfect for the price. How can you go wrong?

I loaded most of the music we had on this device and used about half of the available memory. I have a video on it, as well. I have the device in my car and enjoy the capability of having it plug into the car. I bought an optional car charger cord for it and it works fine except when I turn off the car, the device doesn't shut off. I have been manually turning it off. Works great and we like it.. You can't beat the price and performance of this device. The software was easy to load and easy to use from the device, although a non-techie may find it difficult to figure out that the software is on the device and you have to install it from the device once you hook it up to your computer. The instructions are way to vague. Other than that, it is a great device for the money.
Good picture quality for photos and video.
I wish there was a way to start the whole list of all music and have the device 'remember' where you left off the last time you played all.

I am very satisfied with the Coby MP3 player. The color is awesome. I love the candy apple red. It's has a metallic red to it. It does everything I want it to do and is very easy to add music and videos on there. I haven't tried books on there yet. But everything else is just great.

I was looking for a cheap MP3 player that was not complicated and just to bring to work with me. I have a very boring job and work mostly by myself and I wanted a little music to help the time go by. So I came here to look around for one. It was delivered in 4 days and I tore the packaged open and was very excited to find that everything was as it was advertised. The paint on the top corner above the screen is a little scratched and the middle button is very loud when you press it. It is very very lightweight, which is a plus and also a concern for me. I feel like if i dropped this thing it would break into a million pieces as it is made out of very cheap plastic. I am not downing this device at all, I didnt expect a whole lot. It actually sounds very good, holds 4g and is very cheap, so they had to scrimp on something, which is obviously the plastic that it is made from. It is basically JUST like an Ipod, only the Ipod is made from much better plastic. That is the biggest complaint I really have with it.

Purchased for grandchildren for Christmas. They LOVE it! Got a black one for grandson and red one for granddaughter, so they can easily tell them apart.
I am not a real techy and can't do much more than read my email, but was able to figure out how to load a CD on them for the kids before they went home to their techy father! That says enough!
If I can figure it out, anyone can.
The quality for the money is good!
I would recommend this to anyone with younger kids as a starter MP3 and for adults who need something easy, adequate and not too expensive!

This player which i bought in red is nice looking, the sound is good enough for me. The battery life seems pretty good so far as well. My only issues are when locating songs, after selecting a song you have to start from the top and scroll through to which you want each time. Also the absence of the shuffle and playlist functions.

An overall not bad player.......just note that it sticks to the basics.

The Coby MP3 music player with FM is a great purchase. I chose it as a "beginner" mp3 player for my kids instead of spending $150 or more on the name brands. It was easy to load music onto it, and Coby's customer service reps were great at helping Tech-Challenged mom set it up on my computer. We've had two of these for five months now with no problems.
