Purchased this book for a Cuban friend and myself. I do not speak Spanish, but, wow this book sure helps me to translate my personal recipes into Spanish. This book has various meat, dessert, casserole, vegetable and salad recipes. I have cooked for over 50 years, and find the basics of cooking within these pages. I can help my friend with her English, and this book helps me to learn a bit of Spanish. Now, if only Betty Crocker could print their regular cookbook in English/Spanish. How awesome that would be.

Esta version en ambos idiomas es muy pobre, le faltan muchas recetas y fotografias en comparacion con el original en ingles y hasta tiene partes que se les olvido traducir. Muy limitado

A great gift that I purchased for my daughters homestay mom in spain. She speaks no english, loves to cook. This book had recipes on way side of the page in english and the other side in spanish and all american recipes. This was really the only book I found by american cooks.
She loved it!!

This version of the BC cookbook is limited to the most basic recipes. Not appropriate for accomplished cooks. Nice as gift for Spanish speaking individual who wants to learn very basic American cooking style.

Este libro resultó buenísimo. Tiene recetas baratas y fáciles, pero tiene muy pocas imágenes, y cuando no conoces bien un plato es de mucha utilidad verlo primero en fotos, a ver si se te antoja cocinarlo, en todo caso sí lo recomiendo.

This cookbook was a gift for a very special lady from Mexico who is not living in our fair city.
She was trilled with it, not only will she be able to cook with it, but it will also help her understand, read and write the english language.

El libro tiene recetas muy útiles, ya que son sencillas y en su mayoría rápidas y fáciles de hacer

I guess this book is about what you would expect from Betty Crocker, but I was expecting a little bit more in the way of Latin American food. Everything in the book is mid-west food from the 70's including Chex Party Mix, Sloppy joes and grilled cheese sandwiches. The translations seem to be good. I usually find myself translating recipes for my non-English speaking cook, so there were some phrases that were something I can use for other recipes, but I was hard pressed to find a recipe that I would actually use. There aren't as many recipes as I had hoped either. There is a lot of white space on the pages with one recipe per page using very small type - my cook will have to get her reading glasses out. (Oh how I wish someone would translate Joy of cooking into bi-lingual!)

On the positive side (this is why I gave it as good a rating as I did), there are good pictures and some how-to drawings for preparing meat, such as in stuffed pork chops. While there is nothing earth-shattering about the dessert menus, they have good instructions with Betty Crocker's standard step-by-step easy to follow directions.

I bought this for my mom for Christmas. I searched long and hard for a cook book in Spanish (it was rather difficult!). I found this one and loved the fact that it is bilingual. This can even help expand her English vocabulary by following along with both languages. Great pictures, looks delicious! Kinda wanted to keep it for myself!

I am an ESL teacher and I bought this book to use at school when I cook with my students. At the conclusion of the cooking unit, the students get to take the book home to share with their parents. It's a great learning tool for each, since the kids are teaching the parents English and the parents are able to read along in Spanish. The recipes are enticing, well-laid out, and fun!
