music to our ears,

This review is from: Cockatiel Training CD (Audio CD)
We ordered this for our baby cockatiel a year or so ago. We would play it for him several times a day and often when we would leave I would set it to play. In just a short while he learned quite a few of the different whistles. To this day he still uses them. He even taught another baby cockatiel how to whistle "dixie".

I also have a baby male cockatiel. I played this CD a few times a week. After several weeks, Buddy would practice the tunes in his cage. During my conference calls at home, my meeting attendees would hear Buddy whisting the "CHARGE" note-set or ascending the scales of "Pop Goes the Weasel", to join into the tone of my voice. I like this CD because IT WORKS. There are quite a few tunes on this CD so you may want to focus on a few first, then move to the next. Otherwise so many whistlings can overwhelm your bird, not to mention turning you into a birdbrain!

This cd is made very well and the audio is great. I like the way the humans space the whistling and speaking segments. The only problem is I didn't want my bird to whistle or say anything on the cd.'
The phrases are outdated. I would much rather my bird whistle the theme to 'kill bill' or 'young frankenstein' rather than 'dixie'. I like the phrase 'It's all good' or 'sweet', rather than the old tired 'pretty bird'. The cd did teach me how to make the cd myself with my computer. I will use this cd's example and style with my own creative phrases.

I have a young male cockatiel. I wish I would of thought of buying something like this when he was 6 weeks old. Still, I play this CD for Echo everyday and he is mimicking sounds and whistles. This CD does work well. I would highly recommend it.

The CD is clear but not very effective for my bird. It seems to interest the cockatiel but not to the point of trying any of the sounds. It is best to play when you are gone - the repetition can be irritating to non-feathered ones...

Since I'm not a bird, I really do not know how to review this. I find it painful to listen to it, but one of my birds is very interested and the other just screams at the
woman's voice in the talking part of the CD. In the whistle part, I think he thinks he knows better and tries to sing a different tune. I hope one day both birds will be on the same track and sing along with it. |
