5.0 out of 5 stars Hysterically funny! Great Gift Book!!!!
Another triumph for beloved NEW YORKER MAGAZINE cartoonist, Leo Cullum.
Each witty, well drawn cartoon is a humorous take on the human condition...not an attack on cockatiels....lighten up people. It's a book of humor!!!
A perfect mate to his previous cartoon books. SCOTCH and TOILET WATER, TEQUILA MOCKINGBIRD and COCKATIELS for TWO make the perfect trilogy...

1.0 out of 5 stars I'm not a cat hater, but....
as a cockatiel lover, I find the cover and title of this book to be in rather poor taste.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious, January 15, 2011
This review is from: Cockatiels for Two: A Book of Cat Cartoons (Hardcover)
I'll admit it: I am a cat person and love almost anything that deals with these wonderful furry creatures. I am also a big fan of the New Yorker cartoons and their uncanny ability to make the funniest possible twist out of some of the most ordinary creatures and situations. This collection of New Yorker cartoons manages to entertain, and even if cats are not close to the top of your favorite animals list, you'll find the cartoons in this book really amusing. Leo Cullum manages to tap into the various feline personalities with great insight and the result are some of the funniest cartoons that I have come across.

5.0 out of 5 stars So cute and I love Cockatiels too. But I'm also a realist., March 21, 2011
This review is from: Cockatiels for Two: A Book of Cat Cartoons (Hardcover)
Cats are my foremost love in the kingdom of critters all fuzzy. And Cockatiels are my favorite bird so this review is in memory of Charley a beautiful white cockatiel....if these people who have given this book 1 star based on the covers drawing......perhaps they would feel better if they thought about all the kittens and small creatures who might harm the rare cockatiel was seen being carried off by an owl. We used to freak when we'd suddenly notice shadows flashing past our curtained windows around dusk near Bozeman MT and go...oh no...where is Felina? Our newest young cat/kitten....she was a wild one and sure enough you'd open the door and run out to save her just in the nick of time...she didn't understand that the owls swooping down to her weren't playing with her...they meant her as the meal...and she was all in play. She lived many years and I gave gifted her to my brother who's lives were enriched they tell me because of this beautiful cat. Yes she caught things wild in the night...and never herself was caught that we knew of...but they were most surprised one night when it was warm so window without screen was left open and Felina brought into their bed a live Lease Weasel.....they spent the next couple of hours trying to catch the gift in hopes to set it free & unharmed. I suspect Felina was just ROTFLOL the whole time. Animals are animals....people need to remember that. We choose not to set up bird feeders despite the fad because it disrupts the normal flow of things for not just bird life but bears & coons etc. And when not once but at least 5 times relatives and friends have contacted us to ask what they can do to prevent the owl or the hawks from eating their cherished song birds at their yard feeder. Our answer usually is....that's just one reason we don't set up feeding stations...it attracts the birds of prey too. Humor trumps it all....and even the animals may snicker and chuckle and who's to say they aren't laughing loudest at those who give 1~star reviews for books they do not even read let alone own. Sensitive souls perhaps. Insensitive cartoonist probably not.
