Very cool French '60's garage rock ! ! !,

This CD compiles several '60's era Dutronc hits onto a well priced disk. Unlike numerous lame French rockers who sang '50's rock'n'roll hits with translated French lyrics, Dutronc creates his own French lyric songs and is able to capture the phrasing and spirit of rock more effectively. He also adds a French majesty that borders on lounge music, but manages to avoid sounding overly sappy. The result is aninteresting Nuggets era garage lounge sound that sounds like the Yardbirds just stepped into the coolest casino in Monaco. Can the French rock ?? Mais oui, definitement !!!
