5.0 out of 5 stars 100% Greatness, April 21, 1999

This review is from: Cocktail Mix, Vol.4: Soundtracks With A Twist (Audio CD)
This is one of those CDs which is so well compiled that it offers continous pleasure. A total winner, and some of the material (eg the George Duning from 'bell book and candle' and 'world of suzy wong') is very hard to come by on vinyl. All my favorite film composers are covered too - Ennio Morricone (superbly wacky track!), John Barry, Henry Mancini, Lalo Schifrin, Quincy Jones, Francis Lai. To me, this really is the ultimate 60s soundtrack collection

4.0 out of 5 stars Bring out the bourbon., April 12, 2005

This review is from: Cocktail Mix, Vol.4: Soundtracks With A Twist (Audio CD)
This fourth and final volume in the Cocktail Mix series features swinging soundtrack recordings from 1958 to 1968. All tracks are instrumentals, with the exception of "Come Live With Me", which is sung by Tony Scott. It is a fun album that should appeal to fans of "adult pop" from the '50s and '60s.

3.0 out of 5 stars It will make you seem very hip, November 22, 2000
This review is from: Cocktail Mix, Vol.4: Soundtracks With A Twist (Audio CD)
The opening is so classic. The theme to Man and a Woman comes on and I just want to buy a yuppie old-style Saab convertible and play it on repeat. My other favourite track is "Come live with me" that contains the most impossible lyrics, it makes me laugh every time. "Lolita Ya Ya" reminded my old roommate of some kind of cartoon character and it is rather insane albeit fun. It will impress your friends that you bothered to buy this, but I personally prefer the album Martini Madness.
