Not that far out...,

This review is from: Cocktail nation: cosmic cocktails, space-age shots and other rituals on (Paperback)
Cocktail Nation takes a playful, often off the wall look at cocktails and the "Art of Mixology". Filled with off the wall stories and anicdotes that acompany most recipes, Beverly West and Kim Doi seem to take great enjoyment from poking fun at the establishment. While not the largest collection of drinks, games or stories Cocktail Nation is a most enjoyable light hearted read and would make an ideal going away present for the college student in your life.

This is more than just a book of drink recipes, although it's got some really useful ones if you're throwing a party or sick of the same old drinks. It's also a hilarious guide to enjoying your poison, with nonsensical excuses for tippling, drinking lore, and dubious hangover cures (I think I'll skip the one where you snort an oyster up your nose! ). Lots of fun, and clever and well-written enough just to enjoy reading for its own sake.

if you like combustable edison, esquivele, and all things lounge, this is the book for you. decent recipes, although Mr Boston is probably better, but not as hip. Kick back, put some samba on the hi-fi and shake up a martini!
