Small children and the adults who read to them must both delight in Coco. This chic avian ingenue engages both wide-eyed pre-schoolers and their sophisticated elders. Who could resist Coco in her Halloween frog costume?

Here's another total charmer from Tanen. I read "Coco All Year Round" to my 10-month old son and he seemed to really enjoy the pictures. And I love the clever captions and quirky characters. I'm a big fan of Tanen's chicken books and highly recommend this newest one (and all the others) for the young and the young-at-heart.

I've read the reviews that trash this book because it isn't what they think of child's book. I think it is adorable and fun. Sloane Tannen does a great job with all her chick books. I have found that no matter what, the kids love the books just to see the chicks and all the details. Her counting book is wonderful for children and this one gives kids great visuals about the changing seasons. I own them all because I think it is such a wonderful collection. So it boils down to, if you don't have a sense of humor, you may think a few vignettes in this book may not be for children, otherwise, it's all good! I HIGHLY recommend all of the Chick books!

This book has a page for every month of the year. It uses amazing pictures that appeal to people of all ages. My daughter (age 4.5) and I read this book over and over and even play "I Spy" with it. The writing is very simple, but is balanced nicely with the great photos. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone with a love for unique children's books.

Once again, Sloane Tanen has created a great early childhood book that will become a child's favorite. I love this book and all the Sloane Tanen books!
Every home with very young children should have this book...it is wonderful!

When we read Coco All Year Round to my 9 month old, he goes APE. The pictures are so colorful and chock full of imagery and the text is short, sweet and, as usual for Tanen, clever. Coco covers everything from stepping in poop to vegetarianism. We love it at our house.

My daughter is almost two and adores this story. I love it too. The pictures are fun to look at and the rhymes are charming. We also have Where is Coco Going, but I think this is my favorite of the two. They're both fantastic though.

I got this book for our school library because we needed something new for the seasons and the months of the year.

Unfortunately--I wish that I had seen it before buying it. The pictures are not only rather odd looking, but quite malicious for the pre-schoolers it is meant for. From painting things on a friends door to slipping in poop to complaining about fruit rather than candy at trick-or-treating.

Some may find it amusing, I personally am on the lookout for something else.
