this is the best cocoa i've had. way better than anything you can find at the supermarket, and even better than the other highly rated cocoas i tried from amazon.. also dissolves in water really easily and makes amazing hot chocolate (you can find recipes online - once you start making it from scratch you'll never buy the pre-mixed stuff again).

This is one of the few organic & pure cocoa powders out there. The price is competitive comparably. Whenever I am running low, I re-order this terrific product.

The price shows $8.99 for 12 oz. That's $.75/oz. But Amazon is showing $.57/oz. I have seen this several other times on Amazon. It seems dishonest. Most certainly a mistake and misleading. I ordered it anyway because I want to make my own chocolate syrup, but I'll update the review when I try the product.
UPDATE: This powder is good, but I think I found a better product. Navitas Naturals Cacao Nibs, 16-Ounce Pouches (Pack of 2) If you buy it individually it's more expensive, but if you buy the 2 pkg on the subscription, it's actually the same price. My personal opinion is that I like the Navitas Naturals Cacao better. The NOW powder is more refined and mixes better, but the Navitas Naturals Cacao has less bitterness (to me) and so it requires less sugar when used for backing, chocolate milk, chocolate syrup, etc.) For example, when I mixed the NOW powder I used 1.5 cups of powder to 1.5 cups of sugar (raw) to get an acceptable syrup. But with the Navitas Naturals Cacao powder it only required 1 cup of sugar (raw). However, the NOW powder is more refined and mixes better, while the Navitas Naturals Cacao is a coarser grind, so it takes a bit more effort to mix it in and not clump.

Rye Bread
This is an adequate product when I make rye bread. Buying by the case is most economical. It should keep well. I do like the taste but rarely use alone.
