It is perfect for a purse organizer.

While these seem a little costly, I think it is worth it, it sure beats rummaging around your pack look for loose items.

I bought this because of its small size, but its small size is exactly why it's not great.

I bought these and I have to say that they do exactly what they say the will: hold your crap. I use it to hold all the little bits and bobs that normally are vomited all over my backpack.

Things I like:
1. grippy dots on the elastic so that your small e-debris don't go walkabout
2. various sizes available

Things I don't like:
1. The thing is backed by some kind of cardboard that is sewn in. The Grid-It quickly curved into a parabola that I find irritating. It's not a deal killer and doesn't effect performance but it bugs me. There is an aluminum-backed version that can be had for more money that presumably doesn't suffer from this design flaw.

2. They're less useful than you think. It's nice that you can see everything at a glance but they take up a lot more room than a zippered mesh bag (for instance). A bag full of wires and gizmos can easily conform to a new shape like so much liquid into a glass but this cannot.

3. The cost is disproportionate to the usefulness and materials. These were fairly pricey and I'm not quite sure why. If the product didn't bend then I wouldn't have as much of a problem with it. Given that their competition (zippered mesh pouches available anywhere) is so inexpensive I had a hard time pulling the trigger to buy these. Ultimately I did but I won't buy any more.

I purchased this particular GRID-IT organizer based on simply fitting it into a pocket on a new laptop case. I had not thought about what to put in it, and when I got it, I started out with a blank mind. It was not until the next day that it occurred to me. I have been carrying a small box of parts, and decided to see if I could put them all on this grid. Well it worked, so far I have a USB to PS/2 and a PS/2 to USB connector, a DVI to VGA connector, a 1/4" to 3.5mm TRS jack, a S-Vid to RCA jack,, and two memory sticks on the thing. I had a miniHDMI to HDMI connector, but the connector itself broke in a badly laid out card. Throw in two flash drives, and I still have a good third left over to add any more stuff I find laying about.

This particular organizer does not have any attached loops for hanging it is just flat on the back.

Bought this as a requested gift for Christmas. Never heard of it before, but, wish I had bought some more for gifts. Daughter loves it. It's sturdy, well made. It is perfect for a purse organizer. I plan on buying more for future gifts. And one for myself.

If you're a gear-guy, this works as advertised. If you have a lot of small to relatively medium things you need to keep together, this is for you.

I'm using this as an organizer for my car's center console. When I opened it I knew right away it would be to small, that's my fault so I ordered the 10.25 by 7.5 and it has been amazing, so whatever you do when you're ordering one of these order one size bigger because you will undershoot your estimate.

I recently purchased three of these in various sizes to get my laptop bag and my suitcase better organized. The idea is fantastic, and in theory this is a great way of doing it. In reality, this is a frustrating gadget at best. The smallest (7x5) is essentially useless. There are two or three usable loops on there, but the rest are too small or too closely spaced with the next one. None of them are big enough for a regular-sized mouse, and for cables, velcro is a much better option than this. Once you use it a few times, it refuses to stay flat. Useless... but has potential if it could be improved -- make it more rigid, make the loop sizes adjustable, etc.

best cable organizer for work and travel. it makes things way easier for me rather than fumbling all over my backpack for my cables and chargers. this organizer also saves me from putting a velcro tie on each of my cables. quite versatile too, I can fit cables of different length and sizes.

I bought this initially to hold memory cards and other small accessories in my camera bag (spare battery, USB cord, etc). This stuff always seems to be hard to find when you really need it.
This organizer is a great solution and on that basis alone I'd give it five stars. The tension on the straps is a perfect balance between security and usefulness.

But I also found another use for it... I tend to accumulate a collection of stuff near my TV viewing chair... thumb drives, post-it notes, pencil, Sharpie, etc.... you know what I mean. And this thing really cleaned up my act without making me actually put anything away.
So that's very good.

Now I'm thinking about the small crap in the glove compartment of my car ..... pencil, tire gauge, cell phone cord, rewards cards, MP3 thumb-drive ......
