I very rarely put up 5 stars,

K's choice is the only band i know that is so Ying Yang, Hot and Cold, Man and Woman, Good and Evil at the same time. Let me explain, they are melodious and exquisite in all that they play and sing, sometimes under the form of an electrical and powerful song (Hide, Everything for free), sometimes under the form of a simple ballad (20 000 seconds, God in my bed), or even an accoustic but still rythmic song (In your room, If you're not scared). Their lyrics mean something, for a change, the harmonies in each songs are outstanding. To sum up, this band really illustrates Alanis Morissette's hand in my pocket : they're made of contradictions, they are complex, and this album is the one that shows it the most. If you want an album that is a real sample of what they are, this is the one, then you can buy -Paradise in me-, the edgiest of their 3 albums, or -The Great subconscious club-, the more accoustic and the funniest, or you can wait for their fourth ep, due next spring...

K's Choice (should be anyone's),

I first heard this band through "Not an Addict," paid attention, and forgot them. Then I heard the gorgeous single "Virgin State of Mind" on the Buffy TV soundtrack, and went out instantly and bought all the K's Choice I could find. This album is for those who like a hint of sweetness with their edge -- Sarah's voice still sounds a little ragged, but in a wonderful "I survived last night" kind of way. The songs are melodic and as upbeat as those on "Paradise in Me" were grim. I've become a fan of the band, and highly recommend this as the first purchase for those seeking to get to know them.

Original, talented and great song writers,

Maybe its a family thing but Sarah and Gert have a natural ability to write songs together! and what results! This album is much less raw than Paradise in me. There is a certain element of Maturity. The first song I ever heard was Not an Addict which had both originality and crunch. While on holiday (isn't it always the way!)I heard Everything for Free and instanly recognised Sarah's voice. I bought the album straight away as this song completely wowed me. The video was also cool. The album has a mixture of hard rocking anthems coupled with acoutic guitars and ballads. Believe is an unbeleivable song! As is In your room and Winners. The acoustic songs: 20,000 seconds, Quiet little place and Now is mine are all delightful. As is the power of Cocoon crash and Hide. I thought the choice in singles could have been better but the first 2, (Believe and Everything for Free) are two of my favourite K's Choice songs. K's Choice have indeed matured without the need to sell out like so many before. Still a fans band, we can be treated to the varied greatness to this, and in my opinion, their best album. and the artwork's pretty too! Definitely worth the purchase, I cant really compare them to another band as they are so orginal. As are their 3 studio albums, each has a different sound and character. A sign of a great band!

This is what I call music!,

Usually I listen more to punk (which I love) and faster rock. But we all have those times in which we like to kick back and just relax a little and don't feel so angry all the time (lol). This is a great cd for such times. I've been a fan of K's Choice music since their 2nd album, Paradise in Me. Their music helped me through some of those teenage troublesome moments we've all had and so they have a very special place in my life. I was lucky enough to see them perform live twice (weeeeeeeeeeeee!) and so I decided to make this review just to get a chance to praise them a bit more :D and along the way, who knows, persuade some of you to add an amazing cd to your collection. I just decided to make my review to Cocoon Crash given that its my favorite of their 4 albums.Where should I start? This album is just everything a music lover could wish. It has your faster songs, it has your slower, more peaceful songs, every single one with amazing lyrics that have a strong meaning and appeal to you. "Everything for free" and "Hide" are perhaps the faster songs, but it's impossible to be indiferent to tracks like "Quiet little place", "20.000 seconds" and "God in my bed". I really don't know how to explain it, but this songs just reach within you and take a hold of your heart and make you feel exactly like what the song states. Sarah Bettens voice is extraordinary, the rest of the band is extremely gifted to, they're just one of the best bands I've ever heard and this is (in my opinion, of course) their best cd. So if you want to get started in K's Choice universe, why not give this cd a try? I trust you won't regret it. It's worth every dollar (and more). So get up off of that chair and go buy this!!!

One of a kind,

There's a reason that every review on this page(except about two) has five stars. This band is amazing. From their first album to this latest one, their music amazes me. I bought their first album on an impulse buy and have been an addict ever since. I can listen to all their CDs without missing one song. In fact, I've actually bought 'Paradise in Me' three times, 'Great Subconscious Club' twice, and 'Cocoon Crash' twice. I would lose them or loan them, and be unable to go one day without listening to them. I've bought seven of their albums, yet they've only released three. I hope that says more about their amazing talent than my absent-mindedness. Hopin' they'll visit Knoxville, TN sometime soon.

My choice!!,

K's Choice is quite a phenomenom over here with a lot of fans, including me. This is in my eyes their strongest album so far. They've found a nice balance on this album between faster tracks and slower tracks. Some of their other albums contain in my eyes too many slow tracks, making one feel a bit depressed. This one is different. "Believe", the number 1 hit "everything for free", "too many happy faces" and "hide" are the faster tracks and my favourites. the special voice of Sarah Bettens never bores and is even somewhat relaxing. Calm, yet powerful. This is one of the first albums I bought and still one of the albums I most listen to. If you're into (soft)rock, but don't want a CD full of the same kind of songs this is an album for you.

"K's Choices" (Best CD),
By Lisa (Sweden) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Cocoon Crash (Audio CD)
Since they aren't so popular in Sweden, I was happy when I found this cd. This cd is the K's choices'third album, and in my opinion the best they have released. I bought it a few weeks ago and I have listen to it a lot ever since. All the songs are good, I never skip any tracks. Some great tracks on this album are "Believe", "Hide", "Everything for free", and some also very good slow tracks like "Now is mine", "God in my bed" and "Winners". I've read the lyrics to all the songs. They're really inspiring. My favorite part is "Take my future, past, it's fine, but now is mine". This cd will stay the favorite of my collection for a long time. Any more K's choice fans out there? Please contact me at liza_135@hotmail.com And if you dont already own this cd, BUY IT!

The best CD in the universe,

Not many people have discovered the wonder of K's Choice. I was one of those people a couple years ago. Then, one day, my friend and I were listening to some of her cd's and she played this cd. She told me, "Listen to the lyrics to 20,000 seconds... you'll love it." So I half-listened to the lyrics, not really caring about the lyrics all that much. I liked the song, sure, but it wasn't all that important to me at the time. Another time when I was at her house, I asked if I could borrow this cd. It instantly popped on my list, and is my favorite cd that I own; I love this cd even more than Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill, which was "number 1" since my freshman year of high school. Unfortunately, not many people in America know of K's Choice. They don't know any of the songs, and I've never even seen a video of their's played on MTV. The only reason someone may recognize a song by K's Choice is because Virgin State of Mind was included on the Buffy soundtrack. This cd is for anyone who loves rock in any way. It is especially for those who are into the Lilith Fair-type music (ie: Jewel, Sarah McLachlan, Indigo Girls). Even my boyfriend who hates "chick music" confided that he liked K's Choice. Starting with Believe, which is more of a mild rock song and ending with a ballad called Winners, this cd doesn't have one bad song on it. My favorites are the aforementioned 20,000 Seconds ("20,000 seconds since you left and I'm still counting/20,000 reasons to get up, get something done, and I'm still waiting) and God In My Bed, which is just beautiful. This cd is so great that my roommate at college bought the cd after a few months of hearing me play it over and over again. All in all, it takes an extremely good cd for me to rave about it and for me to actually listen to the whole cd. This cd is one of them. I cannot give it enough praise or enough stars. Just try it out. :)

Wow, wow, wow. A friend of mine bought this CD first, and after listening to hers, I had to get a copy for myself. K's Choice embraces so many styles on one CD for an original sound that can appeal to just about anyone. My mom even likes this one. From quiet and simple to a rollicking good romp or two on the heavy side, this CD is almost a journey. More than once I was brought to tears by the delicate, insightful lyrics. You won't be disappointed.

Talent is an understatement. These guys rock hard and bring in a smooth harmonious melody. Listen very closely to the different subtle background vocals and the clever changes in instrumentation. They all compliment each other very well to put on a thouroughly enjoyable album. Check them out!
