So good it's almost scary,

This Cd, for lack of a better word, is amazing. Krush is the premier trip hop DJ, nobody does it better. He is also an artist in the truest sense of the word. I just picked this Cd up yesterday and I probably won't take it out of my player for a long time to come. Not as dark as his last, this has almost a playfull feel to it, like he's challenging any other DJ to try and top him, which I don't think is possible. Krush may not be the fastest, but he is definitely the most artistic and aesthetically rich DJ I have ever heard. Any fan of trip hop must have this Cd. Any fan of the turntables must have this Cd. Any fan of Krush probably already has it. If you're new to Krush, this Cd will make a dedicated fan out of you.

This, to put it simply, is the single finest trip-hop DJ set ever cut to CD. It's been in my regular rotation for years...Strictly classy, kickin' beats. No ifs, ands, or maybes. Turntable wizardry of the highest calibre. Dare we call a DJ an artist? If you do, make sure your list includes Krush. Dope.

DJ Krush is an incredible talent as an artist, but he really shines here as a DJ. I have a mix album he did for Ninja Tune from a few years ago and it does not come close to comparing to this. Krush weeves and molds a mostly flawless mix here with interesting transitions and even some added flavor on some of the tracks themselves. For example, on cut #9, Krush adds a sample of a Bulgarian choir and orchestra for some added spice. For those of you who are Krush fans, this is an absolute must. Even newcomers to Krushworld should enjoy this to fullest. Just pop this bad boy in and let it roll. The Jazzanova and Esthero cuts are my personal fave, but this entire mix has shown me the meaning of bliss.

this is my first dj krush cd, and i can't believe i hadn't heard of this guy before. this disc is amazing... it real jazzy but it has some real tight beats in it to. plus not only does he choose great tracks (and a diverse selection of them aswell), but he knowns what to do with them too... oh but don't be fooled this disc isn't fast or really hip-hoppy either, but if you want something to chill out to that wont bore you this is it

I have been slowly, but steadily, buying all of the DJ Krush albums and have about 6. This is my favorite. Not only do you get the strong Asian influence, you get a strong influence from Europe, and North American music, well, basically, everything! :-)This album is easy and enjoyable to listen too, and even after 20+ times through it, I still discover new parts to the music. It keeps getting better and better!!! Unlike some other albums (even some Krush) that need to be played a few times before they are liked, this one is great at the first go, so this might be the best place to start if you are new to Krush. I highly recommend this CD.

In an indusry where most MC's beats are sounding the same because of the same wack producers with no taste, Krush seems to drop something unheard of on every track. He brings back what hip-hop is missing and that is an actual "DJ" who still cuts, scratch and create while on the turn table. The beats are neck crampin, the samples are on point and the total creativity of his work make this a hip-hop/acid master piece. "Final Home" with Esthero is one of my favorite tracks. Her voice over just about anybodys track is a true ear candy to grab. Every track is true work of hip-hop art and should be copped by anyone craving real original beats.oNe

when i first purchased this cd, i wasn't that impressed with the sound. It took me approximately 3 tries to truly appreciate it. this is one of the rare finds that i have made where i purchase a cd based on my love for the artist that i absolutely love. I highly recommend this cd. The beats are unbelievable and the entire cd seems to be from a live set he played. He has excellent mixes and as always, the track selection is impeccable. must have for all krush fans.

Out of this world.,

This album is quite simply the most breathtaking piece of art, in general, i have ever encountered. The soundscape of each track is unbelievable, each track always seems to blow me away EVERY SINGLE TIME. The impeccable production by this man, mixed with some brilliant track from other fantastic tracks, such as Jazzanova's 'Coffee Talk', make this album my all time favourite. The darkness, and incredible emotion emitted by this album never ceases to amaze me. Try it. Listen to 'No More' in the dark by yourself, no distractions. It really is an amazing experience. I swear by this album, i listen to it at least once daily, and along with most other Krush works, it is a true masterpiece by a genius of our time. Simply incredible.

A MASTERPIECE...,
By Keltic "Al_Bury_U." (San Diego, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Code 4109 (Audio CD)
After playing through Code 4109, one thing should become very clear to any attentive listener, DJ Krush is a musical genius of our time. Don't be fooled by it's subdued and somewhat melancholy introductory songs, this CD is a 68-minute powerhouse of an album. Personally, Code 4109 is my favorite record from Krush. It has a more hard-lined hip-hop beat throughout compared to some of his other works, but where it's shines most is in Krush's selection of vinyl and odd samples... It can include everything from: rap tidbits, to off-the-wall female vocals, to full-on Japanese rap, to wildlife sounds, to Jazz, to traditional Japanese instrumentals, to dark samples of noises whose origins are unknown. Though it's extremely hard to choose, I would say that my favorite track is #18, "Beataholic Reformatory." This is one of the most creative and crazy tracks that Krush has ever conceived. If there has ever been an album that I'm able to play again and again and still hear new things, then Code 4109 is it. If some wierd circumstances forced me to buy this again, even if the price were in the 100 dollar range, I would still purchase it. (...)ESSENTIAL LISTENING FOR ANY HIP-HOP OR TRIP-HOP HEAD(...) buy this album at any cost.

Hip Hop Masterpiece,
By shardul shah (Birmingham, AL, USA) - See all my reviews

This is 100% pure hip hop the way it was ment to be. No pretense and there is absolutely no image to uphold with this music..just beat and sample bliss...this cd takes me back to the days when hip hop was all about the music...this Cd could very well be a tribute to the hip hop founding fathers and legends....excillent music. The music just flows freely and i can just imagine myself riding in my car simply havin a great time every time i listen to this jem. And to keep things even more cooler ther are excillent jazz samples intertwied with occasional words and phrases. The entire CD is an expereance....there is no one particular track that stands out. In a genre dominated my american artists DJ Krush has definately proved beyond boubt that Hip Hop is a global phenomenon and is no longer an American staple.
