Editorial Reviews

Review

I retired from the FBI after 27 years, ending my career as the Supervisory Special Agent for the Violent Crimes Program in Los Angeles, California. I feel The Code is a great reference source and could be a valuable asset to families who are in the dark about what their children are involved with on the internet, as well as a source for those in public service, with the responsibility for investigating cases involving cryptic information sent via email and through text messaging. I would highly recommend that concerned parents make themselves familiar with the acronyms and language of The Code. --Mark S. Llewellyn, FBI, Special Agent, Retired / Technical Advisor, Hollywood

In my service as a Chicagoland Police Chief and in my professional opinion, The Code is a necessary parental aid. The Code is a useful tool for guiding and monitoring children's internet and texting habits. The Code provides insight and understanding for preventing the dangers associated therein. --William Villanova, Police Chief, Oak Lawn, IL

It is my distinct honor and pleasure to endorse this great reference and guide, The Code.

As a retired Colonel, and military attorney with Judge Advocate General Corps, I understand the importance of uniformly interpreted communications to accomplishing missions, building relationships, while protecting lives and minds from harm. Most recently in 2008, as Senior Rule of Law Officer to the U.S. State Dept., and as U.S. Justice Dept. Military Attache on Counterterrorism, U.S. Embassy, Baghdad, Iraq, I know the importance of clarity of thought and communicative word. Being properly understood is critical to building positive relationships. "Deciphering" the internet and texting Code, which is the new foreign cryptic language of this generation, used for good or bad purposes, is absolutely essential to protecting ourselves and those ones we care about. --Arthur D. Wellman, Attorney at Law / Colonel, Judge Advocate General Corps, U.S. Army, Retired --handytabs.net

About the Author

John and Barbara Dorgan are entrepreneurs who have mostly centered their creative writings in magazine short stories and articles, newspapers, ghost writing and advertising copy, political literature, media rebuttals, and venting to common-sense-challenged political figures. In the transition from community volunteers in social and business organizations such as Jaycees, Elks, YMCA, Chamber of Commerce, PTAs, youth coaching, scouting, Toys For Tots, an alumni association, serving as a political office holder, and a plethora of other committees, to now becoming community activists, John and Barb have become more aware, more active, and more vocal. With a clear understanding of what is happening in the world today, they ve taken a position on crimes taking place online and in texting, which are endangering and negatively impacting people, especially children. Barb s brother Jeff is of like mind on both texting and instant messaging. One day in conversation, he told us that a book was needed to address this subject. He suggested we write it and we agreed to... hence, THE CODE!
