5.0 out of 5 stars One word to describe this book.....AMAZING, November 23, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Code of the Heart (Hardcover)
"Code Of The Heart" by Earl Avraham David is a must read for the bible code expert or the bible code novice. Though this book teaches the importance of Judaism to the world and the rich history and future of the Jews foretold in the Torah, its literature is not bound by any single religious group to read. If you are a believer in God, or a doubter who needs proof that the Torah is the word of God then this book is for YOU. While other books on the bible code simply tell you the discoveries they made, this book will do that AND give you step by step instructions in Gematria so that you to can conduct your own research into the mystery and depth of the Torah. You will be taught several different methods of performing bible code research. One may also be surprised that through Gematria, they will be able to find their name in the hidden context of the Torah which actually is quite simple to do, and the code can reveal your nature or behavior. If you think that your birth name doesn`t have any influence on your life your wrong, read the book and you`ll see what I mean. The author in addition shows how the Parsha of the week influences current events such as the War with Iraq, 9/11, the allegations of rape aginst Kobi Bryant, the Hunt for Saddam and more. The old saying is true "History repeats itself.", the past and present tie together. "Code Of The Heart" by Earl Avraham David is a great read and when one is done with the book, one can look back to it days, weeks, months, or years later for advice, inspiration, or research. I strongly recommend you buy this book. I suspect we will be hearing alot more from Earl Avraham David.

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting and enjoyable reading, but I remain a bit skeptical, September 30, 2008
This review is from: Code of the Heart (Hardcover)
The author gives interesting facts and perspectives on Biblical prophecy and so called codes known as Gematria. Each Hebrew letter has a numerical equivalent. By plugging in various formulae the sages have come up with all sorts of uncanny coincidences, puns, and cognates. My contention is that some of the formulae appeared to be convoluted and the links tenuous, although the author refers to it as getting creative.
For example on page 178 he gives the gematria for the Sabbath as 7x0x2=14. I never did well in math, but I thought zero times anything resulted in zero.

There is another book called The Bible Code by Michael Drosnin. PBS did a special on it. It seemed pretty amazing until some computer programers were able, using the same methods, to extract "prophecies" from newspapers, classics, etc.

If you enjoy the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament) Midrash (Hebrew legends), and the Kabbalistic (mystical) writings. If you're not familiar don't be put off by the Hebrew. The author gives an appendix of the the Hebrew numerical alphabet and a glossary of foreign words. My only caveat is that it doesn't hurt to be a bit skeptical.

5.0 out of 5 stars inspirational, October 20, 2003

This review is from: Code of the Heart (Hardcover)
I have read the book and it is most interesting and inspirational as we live in a world of fear and instability and Earl David, with the aid of his codes, shows how G-d truly loves even in the end of days as we see that the term love is encoded where Jacob discusses the end of days. He also has excellent analysis of the roots of Islamic Terrorism. This is a must read in todays uncertain world.
