Joanna Dean released her first album in 1988, this is not as raw, or as good, but an excellant work of art none the less. Joanna Dean is a rare talent that most people will never have the pleasure of knowing. A review on her self titled album says she is no longer recording and is now a graphic designer. What a shame. Buy this album. Buy her self titled album if you can find it. Buy anything you can find.(AKA J.D. Jacobs) Not since the likes of Janis Joplin, has there been a singer that put as much of her soul in a song. With only two albums to her credit it is impossible to compare her to Janis, but she is close.

Very good CD, lead singer has a great raspy female voice and music is good if you like 80's rock. Love Hurts featuring Tom Keifer (of Cinderella) is worth the price of the CD by far! This is the best version of a great song that I've heard. A must have!

The guitarist on this recoding is somewhat of a local legend where I grew up just outside of Philadelphia, PA. His tone, technique, and vibrato are all excellent. I was lucky enough to hear some of the studio tracks before they were "watered down" by the record company. Another example of how the industry stifles creative artists. Regardless, the recording is still quite good, but the group was never pushed by the label. I believe there were some problems with Polydor at the time also. Dean's voice is good too. If you are a budding guitarist you should give this one a listen.
