Book Description

Executioner December 8, 2009

Pink. Orange. White. Indigo. In the ruthless and unforgiving world of mercenaries, these are the code names of an elite group of assassins, known collectively as the Black Cross. They leave behind no DNA, no evidence at all--and until they were recruited by the shadowy group, they were the best and deadliest operatives working for the U.S. government.

When someone begins targeting retired American servicemen--CIA, navy and marines--Stony Man decides to send Black Cross a new recruit: Mack Bolan. Bolan must infiltrate the cell of skilled assassins, taking the entire organization apart, body by body. And he'll do it the only way he knows how... Executioner style.

5.0 out of 5 stars DEATH CAN COME IN MANY COLORS, December 31, 2009

This review is from: Code of Honor (Executioner) (Mass Market Paperback)

Mack Bolan/The Executioner series of books #373 has a new writer, this one penned by Keith A. R. DeCandido. An experienced author who has written many books in the Star Trek series. This latest book CODE OF HONOR, is one of the better ones of the Bolan series.

Coming off another mission, Bolan is brought up to speed by Hal Brognola concerning Brognola's feeling of the existence of a suspected but as yet unproven group of professional assassins bent on murdering retired ex-governmental employees of the military, CIA, and NSA. This group, if it exits, is as professional as it is deadly, however, Brognola can as yet offer no concrete evidence that such a group even exits, yet he wants Bolan to find the proof and once found eliminate all the hit men or women. At this point Hal can only offer a 'gut' feeling that such a diabolical group exits.

Part of Mack's mission is to get inducted into the Black Cross to infiltrate and then eliminate all its members. Once Mack Bolan gets active and finds that the Black Cross does exist and its members are all known by various names of color (Ms. White, Ms. Orange, Mr. Pink, etc. (Bolan is given the name: Mr. Sapphire) the Executioner must proceed to 'execute' the Black Cross organization out of business.

This book will please most readers of the Bolan saga due to its different approach in a mission. If the author continues to write books such as this GOLD EAGLE readers will be in for further treats. A very fine book and I hope for many more.

Semper Fi.

In this book the Executioner is given the task of destroying a group of assassins from the inside out. I have not read one of these books in a while but I found this one very entertaining. I especially like the parts where the author gave each character a biography to describe their motivations. I have always equated books like this as the literary equivalent of the low budget action film but that is not a fair assessment for all of them this is an entertaining book and is better than and cliched shoot em up.
