This review is from: Code Name: Hunter - A Political Spell (Paperback)
This is a graphic novel set in the modern world, where magic is slowly leaking back in. To deal with the problems arising from magic, England (populated by animals) must turn to another fantasy kingdom which has always had magic, and still seems to be stuck in feudalism. The story is well written, the characters distinct and engaging, and the artwork is very nice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Disney meets "Torchwood", October 11, 2010
This review is from: Code Name: Hunter - A Political Spell (Paperback)
This graphic novel in-progress is collected from Darcy "Darc" Sowers and Matt Sowers' web comic "Code Name: Hunter". The storyline, which is very tightly written, is of an alternative world populated by anthropomorphic creatures where "real magic" has made a re-appearance. England is in need of a mage, and the only apparent source of such talent is the mysterious and secretive island of Astoria, where the medieval era has never gone away. The highly detailed artwork is very professional and compliments the storyline. In short, this is the first of a number of planned volumes by the Sowers, and has the makings of a modern day classic on the level of such works as "Watchmen", "Blacksad" and the "Tintin" series. I eagerly await the continuation of the story.
