From Publishers Weekly

This slim but action-packed sequel to Skye's previous romance, Code Name: Nanny, stars navy SEAL Hawk MacKenzie and hotel investigator Jess Mulcahey (sister to FBI agent Summer Mulcahey, the heroine from Nanny). The pair come together under tumultuous circumstances when Jess, pretending to be minor royalty, bribes a hotel manager into upgrading her to a nicer room, which turns out to be Hawk's digs. Although the hotel has changed locks, it doesn't deter Hawk, who gains entry with a "highly illicit piece of technology" and catches her in the shower—a plot twist used in Skye's last book. Hawk is hot on the trail of a stolen government lab animal, and Jess is afraid the hotel staff will seek revenge on her for a bad review. Neither has the time or patience for the other's drama, but they are thrown together time and again in the genre's usual fashion—chasing the bad guys through the fog and rain of Washington State's Olympic Peninsula, easing sexual tension in a stalled hotel elevator and tracking down the lab animal, an adorable koala bear. The pace is frenzied at times, and the characters lack depth (all of Skye's navy SEALS are "poster boys for commando work," and her heroine is a typical beauty with tough-girl feistiness). But the story's snappy dialogue and between-the-sheets sizzle will please Skye's numerous fans.

From Booklist

There are lots of parallels between this latest Skye Navy SEAL adventure and its companion novel Code Name: Nanny. There's a handsome wounded SEAL, a woman working undercover, a beautiful stranger in the shower, and, of course, Skye's reappearing character, the extremely sexy Izzy Teague. Jess Mulcahey, a hotel evaluator, checks in to hotels pretending to be a minor European princess and checks out the services, facilities, and bribability of the staff. When Lieutenant Hawk Mackenzie returns to his hotel room after searching for a kidnapped and very special research animal, he finds a stranger in his room. And Jess, the twin sister of FBI agent Summer Mulcahey from Code Name: Nanny, must dash after filing her report. When bad weather interferes, the claustrophobic inspector finds herself locked in an elevator with the SEAL, who is experiencing the libido of a teenager because of an experimental medication. Skye is unsurpassed at combining adventure and romance, but readers may want to read the companion novel first to know the twins' background. Diana Tixier Herald

4.0 out of 5 stars taut thriller, September 29, 2004
The "package" was supposed to be secure in an FBI safe house in the American northwest, but the enemy penetrated security. Two agents are dead and the package that Agent "Aunt Moira" was personally guarding before they killed her is gone. Though still recovering from rib injuries, no one knows Washington State like Navy Seal Hawk Mackenzie. He tracks the killers to recover the "package", Princess, a Koala bear.

Hawk thinks these pros will not head to Canada, but instead will remain local. He goes to a hotel only to find a woman with a fake identity taking a shower in his room. He assumes she is one of the thieves; he knocks her out. The woman turns out to be hotel investigator Jess Mulcahey working an undercover room switch testing a clerk's management potential. The civilian is caught in the recovery effort that pits Commandos against killers. Bullets fly everywhere, but the most dangerous person to Jess' well being is the SEAL who knocked her out when they first met as she and Hawk fall in love while teaming up in the CODE NAME: PRINCESS scenario.

The sequel to CODE NAME: NANNY is an exhilarating tale starring the twin sister of the first tale's heroine and the best friend of the male protagonist from that novel. The story line is action, action, and more action though the readers will appreciate the feistiness and intelligence of Jess. Hawk is more typical of the hero of the romantic suspense thriller, a hunk who hooks the audience. The Skye is the limit for an author who provides a taut thriller starring two characters that fans will appreciate.

4.0 out of 5 stars Much better than the advertizing, October 6, 2004

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The promos for this book are pretty misleading. What was advertised as fluff is really a pretty good romantic suspense novel. Jess Mulcahey, sister of Summer from Code Name Nanny, is a hotel inspector, charged with finding out all aspects of poorly performing hotels. After bribing a desk clerk for a better room(one of her tests), she ends up in the room of Navy SEAL Hawk Mackenzie, who is on a secret assignment to find a stolen Koala named Princess(far fetched, but fun). A series of mistake and mishaps throw the two together over and over again, with alot of action and danger thrown in for good measure.

This is a very quick read and I really enjoyed it.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Fun Read!, November 9, 2004
Since I have not read the first in this series (Code Name: Nanny) I was not familiar with character's, nor did I come to this read with any specific expectations. As a result I found this read to be fun with a unique storyline, and great characters that I enjoyed spending time with.

Jess finds herself in the wrong place, at the wrong time, with what looks like to be the wrong guy. And if this is not enough, she is in a situation of her own making. (I won't give this part away since it's a big part of the story)

Hawk is on a mission and this Navy SEAL is tired, wet, and ready for bed. What he is not ready for is finding a rather curvey singing off-key babe in his hotel bathroom. Well, now he has to figure out the how, why, and what of his unexpected guest. Of course this is going to be easier said then done, and when all is over, and explanations have been give, Jess and Hawk find themselves trapped in an elevator, and each learns a little bit more about the other. This should be the end, but instead it's just the beginning. Will they both survive to see the end of a very important mission?

As I said previously, this was a fun story and one that I recommend if one is looking for a quick and easy read. Hawk and Jess are not your average "romance characters" and as a result are fun. Izzy from some of Ms. Skye's previous titles is here with a rather substantial roll, and it was fun to "see" him again. If the reader is new to Ms. Skye this will not be an issue as Ms. Skye explains who he is. Overall this was a read that I would recommend and suggest that you not overlook.
