taut thriller,
This review is from: Code Name: Princess (Mass Market Paperback)
The "package" was supposed to be secure in an FBI safe house in the American northwest, but the enemy penetrated security. Two agents are dead and the package that Agent "Aunt Moira" was personally guarding before they killed her is gone. Though still recovering from rib injuries, no one knows Washington State like Navy Seal Hawk Mackenzie. He tracks the killers to recover the "package", Princess, a Koala bear.Hawk thinks these pros will not head to Canada, but instead will remain local. He goes to a hotel only to find a woman with a fake identity taking a shower in his room. He assumes she is one of the thieves; he knocks her out. The woman turns out to be hotel investigator Jess Mulcahey working an undercover room switch testing a clerk's management potential. The civilian is caught in the recovery effort that pits Commandos against killers. Bullets fly everywhere, but the most dangerous person to Jess' well being is the SEAL who knocked her out when they first met as she and Hawk fall in love while teaming up in the CODE NAME: PRINCESS scenario. The sequel to CODE NAME: NANNY is an exhilarating tale starring the twin sister of the first tale's heroine and the best friend of the male protagonist from that novel. The story line is action, action, and more action though the readers will appreciate the feistiness and intelligence of Jess. Hawk is more typical of the hero of the romantic suspense thriller, a hunk who hooks the audience. The Skye is the limit for an author who provides a taut thriller starring two characters that fans will appreciate. Harriet Klausner

The promos for this book are pretty misleading. What was advertised as fluff is really a pretty good romantic suspense novel. Jess Mulcahey, sister of Summer from Code Name Nanny, is a hotel inspector, charged with finding out all aspects of poorly performing hotels. After bribing a desk clerk for a better room(one of her tests), she ends up in the room of Navy SEAL Hawk Mackenzie, who is on a secret assignment to find a stolen Koala named Princess(far fetched, but fun). A series of mistake and mishaps throw the two together over and over again, with alot of action and danger thrown in for good measure. This is a very quick read and I really enjoyed it.

A Fun Read!,

This review is from: Code Name: Princess (Mass Market Paperback)
Since I have not read the first in this series (Code Name: Nanny) I was not familiar with character's, nor did I come to this read with any specific expectations. As a result I found this read to be fun with a unique storyline, and great characters that I enjoyed spending time with.Jess finds herself in the wrong place, at the wrong time, with what looks like to be the wrong guy. And if this is not enough, she is in a situation of her own making. (I won't give this part away since it's a big part of the story) Hawk is on a mission and this Navy SEAL is tired, wet, and ready for bed. What he is not ready for is finding a rather curvey singing off-key babe in his hotel bathroom. Well, now he has to figure out the how, why, and what of his unexpected guest. Of course this is going to be easier said then done, and when all is over, and explanations have been give, Jess and Hawk find themselves trapped in an elevator, and each learns a little bit more about the other. This should be the end, but instead it's just the beginning. Will they both survive to see the end of a very important mission? As I said previously, this was a fun story and one that I recommend if one is looking for a quick and easy read. Hawk and Jess are not your average "romance characters" and as a result are fun. Izzy from some of Ms. Skye's previous titles is here with a rather substantial roll, and it was fun to "see" him again. If the reader is new to Ms. Skye this will not be an issue as Ms. Skye explains who he is. Overall this was a read that I would recommend and suggest that you not overlook.
