Product Description

A desperate search for her missing brother once again pits Claire Redfield against the terrifying bioweapons of the Umbrella Corporation. Her quest leads her to a remote island where a mad genius has unleashed every grotesque creature at his disposal to stop her from interfering with his horrific agenda.

Catapulted to the bottom of the world, Claire is at last reunited with the man she came to find. Chris Redfield has been fighting a one-man war of his own against Umbrella's most terrifying creations...and is now on a collision course with the man who betrayed the S.T.A.R.S. in Raccoon City. A man who should, by all rights, be dead: Captain Albert Wesker.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best books in the series, November 26, 2002
By N. Durham "Big Evil" (Philadelphia, PA) - See all my reviews
(TOP 50 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
S.D. Perry's novelizations of the Resident Evil video game series have been excellent mostly, and this volume in the series is no exception. Code: Veronica, the sixth book in the series, is based from the video game of the same name which you can find on the Dreamcast and PS2 game systems. Perry adds so much more to the story and characters than the writers of the game's storyline ever could; the suspense and shocks make it a page turner and you genuinely care for the heroes. The story starts as Claire Redfield (one of the survivors of City of the Dead, the third book in the series and the second game in the video game series) is captured by Umbrella and sent to an uncharted island where she is kept prisoner until, as luck in the Resident Evil universe would have it, all hell breaks loose and zombies and monsters are abound. Eventually she meets up with another prisoner, Steve Burnside, and the two become allies trying to escape, all the while Claire's brother Chris is on her trail to save her. The relationship between Claire and Steve is compelling, as is the sense of urgency that is at an all time high here. While I think some parts of the ending get more and more unbelieveable, Perry's novelization remains faithful to the game it is based on, and if you've never played the game you'll want to after reading this. All in all, Code: Veronica is one of the best in the series (books and games respectively), and if your a fan of anything Resident Evil then you have no reason not to read this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Second best in the books series, but best in game series, December 11, 2001
What can I say, it's Resident Evil Code: Veronica. So far this has proved to be my second favourite book in the series, next to of course the umbrella conspiracy. Very well detailed, lots of action and the scene with Wesker and Chris is a classic. The only two things I have to say disappointed me was the lack of attention Chris Redfield recieved. There should have been more pages about his scenario of events, like the game. The book should have also focused on Residetn Evil Code: Veronica X for the ps2; then there would have been the amazing fight scene at the end between Chris and Wesker. Also Claire would have met Wesker instead of being totally clueless as to his exsistance. This book was awesome, if you haven't read it, then I suggest you should.
- Evan Cooper, the most devoted fan to the Resident Evil series!

4.0 out of 5 stars Itchy. Tasty., February 4, 2002
By A Customer
I am a HUGE Resident Evil fan, and have read all six resident evil books. This was one of the best books I've ever read. The majority of the book which involved Claire and Steve on Rockfort was great, as was the way Perry wrote from Alfred's point of view. I also like the part where Chris found about Claire being on Rockfort. I gave it a four because, while it was a great book, I would've liked to have seen more action with Chris. Chris's part was incredibly rushed. And Wesker had almost no relivance what so ever. Perry should have used the CVX version of the game to base the novel. That way the scene with Claire and Wesker would've been included, as would the incredible fight scene between Chris and Wesker. Most of the bosses from of the game were excluded. Still it was a great book and is a great read for any resident evil fan.
