5.0 out of 5 stars Great to get this movie!, October 20, 2008

A hard-to-find film, and even in VHS it's worth it. The late, great Ian Charleson is a sympathetic spy, and Edward Woodward surprises fans of The Equalizer with his complex characterization. These two actors never made enough films. And the plot is worthy of the greatest spy thrillers out there. Trust and betrayal, love and hatred, with enough irony to satisfy the most demanding viewer.

4.0 out of 5 stars It doesn't get much colder than this!, May 20, 1999

If you like a good, solid spy movie with plenty of twists and turns, than look no further. "Kyril" will keep you guessing to the end, and even then might surprise you. Not for lightweights, this is serious spy vs. spy, Cold War menace at it's best. Why the 4-star, then, if it is so good? Well, call it personal prejudice. I have been an avid Edward Woodward fan since I first saw "Breaker Morant" years ago, and time has made me somewhat lazy in my expectations. This performance shook things up a bit! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars one of the best spy films ever, December 1, 2009

You are very lucky. We can't get this in the uk on dvd..wish we could. You have great music , great actors: Ian Charlston - Kyril, Edward Woodward -Royston, Peter Vaughan -Stanov and Joss Akland - C, also Richard E Grant as Sculby.

Brilliant cars ..great story..Russin agent being brought in to find mole in british secret service. The finale is not what is expected. It even had Sven Beril Taube from "where 8 bells toll" film.

All I need is...... please put it on dvd and I'll pay you!
