I have been a fan of the Dummies series for years and I recently started doing more SEO/ORM/ and online marketing for a start up I work for. I bought the book to help me understand more in depth about QR codes and how to best place/market them on materials we send out. To be honest the book is well written and gives you a great outline. The reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because you can find all this information online for free. I'm a person that likes to read hard copies of materials so I bought this for that reason. If you know nothing about QR codes or how to market them then please by all means buy this book. But if your a computer research junkie then just search and read through several QR and entrepreneur sites for tips and tricks.

Within 15 minutes of starting to read Joe's book, I, a late adopter if there ever was one, had downloaded a reader to my phone and my iPad, connected with one QR (Joe's own website), and began to see how QR Codes might be useful. I write about nonprofit organizations so wanted to get up to speed about how nonprofits can use QR Codes for promotion, fundraising, volunteer work, etc. I wasn't disappointed. Joe's background is in nonprofit so he included plenty of examples of how QR Codes fit into charitable work. I highly recommend the book...a plus is that it is a quick read.

The author gives a very through information on QR codes and what potential use for the QR codes. He explains the QR logics and potential websites to obtain use on QR codes. So far I have created lots of QR codes at work for menu advertising, etc... Great introduction book for dummies and beginners. For those who wants to know about QR codes and hesitate to learn how-to, start here.
