Most Helpful Customer Reviews

There is a great need for this book, both public and private, and is a great potential resource for potential accountability, in professions or industries. This is a great potential tool for State governments to use in regulating professions, industries, and services. Most people are probably not aware of this very useful book, or even that many professions or industries have codes of conduct

Unfortunately, some industries or professions use codes of professional responsibility as marketing devices, alleging to the public that they have such codes of professional conduct, which the industry (or state governments) do not in fact enforce - ergo, such codes are simply fraudulent window dressing, to rip off citizens.

Professional codes of responsibility or conduct serve to establish professional "standards," or industry standards. This is a radically neglected area which, however, is seeing much growth in the continual updating, revision and expansion of such codes.

There is a considerable need for radical development of such professional responsibility codes in the U.S., and rather than be afraid of such codes of professional responsibility, they could be used by industry managers as objective standards to to police themselves.

If this book is reissued by the publisher, should include its "Look Inside" feature. The public needs to know that the accountability standards in this book are a resource members of the public can use for their own protection, or interact with state or local governments about problems citizens are having with commercial establishments.
