The book almost doesnt require review. But still, many people like to read a reafirming review.

Codexes in Warhammer are meant to completely explain and describe their specific armies. Detailing special rules, and going over all the differant soldiers in their force. Also discussed are painting tips and basic strategies for them.

The Space Marine Codex is a fine example of doing all of this well. By the time you are done reading it, you know exactly what you need to do to get a Space Marine army going. And even after that it will continualy be an invaluable referance tool for you during play.

Also, as a bonus, You learn some of the Space Marines history and background from this book.
