I looked at a lot of reviews before I picked this book. I found it incredibly helpful, especially the disc with the practice tests. I found the questions to be very similar to the real CPC Exam. If you grade well on the practice tests, you should pass the real thing. I did on my first try.

I also recommend purchasing the practice tests directly from the AAPC website, they are a true gage of your progress.

This book has been very helpful in studying for my CPC exam. It is great to be able to take the exams (Pre, Post & Final) again and again from the included CD. I gained a better understanding of coding the areas I was weak on. I highly recommend this book for anyone preparing for the CPC exam.

I bought this book two days after I signed up to take my CPC exam. I got the book within a few days. I was very pleased with how quickly it came. I spent an entire weekend doing the pre, post and final exam located in this book. There are also chapter review questions. I took my CPC exam yesterday and to my suprise found that the Carol Buck book was harder in my opinion than the actual AAPC CPC exam. But that is a good thing because I was prepared and refreshed on many medical terms. I feel that I did well on my exam but only time will tell. I would definetly reccommend this book for anyone taking the CPC.

This book will definitely help you pass the exam. I have taken the CPC exam several times and once I finally purchased and read this book, I passed. The final exam in this book is very similar to the CPC exam. It also has a pre and post exam and quizes after each section. It comes with a CD which times and grades you. If you are having problems passing the CPC exam, BUY THIS!!! It is very much worth your $$$.

I used this book exclusively for the practice exams. Being new to the industry, I found them challenging but not impossible, which was great prep for the actual exam. I would say these exams give you a pretty good idea of what the test will be like, and taking them really helps you with the pacing of your time, which is key. On the real exam, I scored exactly in the middle of the range of my practice exams, which I thought was pretty accurate. I would definitely recommend the practice exams in this book.

It's very nerve wracking getting ready to take the Coding Exam. I literally have myself surrounded with tons of books, Exam Review being one of them.
As I go through the Exam Review, I find important notes that I can write in my ICD-9-CM and CPT books. It's concise, easy to understand and I sleep with under my pillow, hoping that the knowledge will be transferred by osmosis; well, that and many hours of studying.
Let's face it, you'll only get out of it, what you put in to it.

This is a book I'll keep always. The beginning of the book goes through all the body groups, possible ailments and treatments. A good tool if you're working in a specialty groug(always check with the provider or your manager if you don't understand).

It's written in an outline form, so it's easy to find what you're looking for.

As I stated earlier, it's a keeper!

Best book for review for this type of course. I was told 100% pass rate on the CPC using this book! Arrived in perfect condition and very fast.

I bought this in June, 2010 and studied the whole summer. I took the CPC cert exam 10/2/10 and passed (1st try)! Overall, I think this study guide is good, but I did find a few errors. I tried looking for the author and publisher's e-mail addresses and/or phone numbers to alert them of the mistakes but couldn't find either. The study guide is user-friendly w/ practice quizzes after each chapter. The exams were very similar to the actual AAPC certification exam. I recommend preparing for the cert exam 4-6 months in advance. You really need that much time to absorb all the info in a productive manner w/out burning out. Good luck!

I found this book to be very insightful regarding the information required to pass the CPC coding exam. The layout of this exam book is very easy to follow and it steps you through each body system thoroughly. The sections for insurance reimbursement, surgery, radiology, etc., was very helpful to refresh what I learned in my school courses.
