Book Description

Technology to die for...

The most significant improvement to mankind since the invention of the internet, Chris Sanders knows his research will change the world and make him a very rich man.

When Chris's beautiful research assistant is murdered, evidence suggests she and Chris were having an affair and he becomes the prime suspect. Accused of adultery and murder, Chris must turn to his wife for help in proving his innocence, but should she trust him? Will she help?

Detective Ben Naylor from Washington DC's Metro PD finds the evidence against Chris is unequivocal. Either Chris Sanders is a calculating, cold-blooded killer, or he is the unluckiest son-of-a-bitch alive.

Can Chris win the fight to prove his innocence? Can he win the battle for his life?

Coding Isis is a fast-paced techno-thriller that brings a new breed of hero to the genre.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent first novel February 20, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I don't usually read thrillers, let along techno thrillers. I was alerted to this book however, and decided that it sounded intriguing enough to give it a try. It was well worth it! This is an incredibly well written and tightly written novel. It was fast paced, and had an interesting premise which was seen out to the end. The characters are well written, well rounded and very believable. You give a damn what happens to them, which is more than you can say about many books. Michelle and Chris, the hero and heroine are particularly well written. This book was a good read, and given it's plot was an easy read as well. It hooked me from the first page, and I found myself longing to get back to it when I had to take a break. I can highly recommend this book to anyone who likes thrillers, and also to anyone who is interested in trying something different for a change. I can't wait for the 2nd book which will apparently be a sequel. Congratualtions, David. You've written a winner.

4.0 out of 5 stars Thoroughly enjoyable May 12, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Good background on the charachters, technology and premise. Enjoyed the ride, didnt feel forced. Would recommend this book to anyone looking for a thriller with some technology weave in. Note that it is more about the thriller than the technology. Only reason I didnt give it 5 stars was because at times the story slowed down and there were a few characters that didnt seem to go anywhere but time was spent developing them, not a biggie.

3.0 out of 5 stars Average techno thriller March 18, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I enjoy techno thrillers (like William Gibson) and this was free so I figured I'd give it a chance. It was a pretty quick read; I read it in 3 days. Overall, not too bad, and worth the read.

The beginning was a little contrived and the prose overall was a little choppy and declarative. I was thinking about giving up, but I stuck it out. Things really picked up after the halfway point when the tension mounted and we really got in to the techie stuff. I did find it believable and worth killing for.

This may be nitpicky, but my main complaint was that the author didn't seem to have a lot of experience with American universities, DC, etc, yet this was where the novel was set. I was confused by the relationship among the characters at the university. (At one point, he referred to the main character's boss as the "principal?") A quick edit could have cleaned a lot of that up.

He also was overly descriptive with unimportatnt details. I think he detailed what they ate at every meal, and what roads they were driving on and the make and model of every car.. While this could make for a fuller, richer narative, I felt it was just distracting and drisrupted the flow.

All in all, worth a read if you're into the genre, but just average.
