C is for "cool me off"...,

This review is from: C Is for Coeds (Erotic Alphabet) (Paperback)
Alison Tyler is fast becoming my favorite "new" author. New to ME that is. I read these books when I need to give myself a break. I read these books while I'm waiting in line at the drive-thru. I read these books when I get to work a little early. I read these books because who wouldn't appreciate a fast pick me up? I'm really enjoying this alphabet series and already planning my next selection.
One thing I'm finding out about Alison, and the writers she chooses for these short collections, is that they love spankings... well as far as these short stories are concerned! :-) While I'm sexually liberal I do have my likes and dislikes. I don't like to read about spankings/bondage/S&M. I know when picking out an anthology/collection you're bound to get some of that, it just seems like they abound in this alphabet series. This book is no different. Five of the twelve stories have spanking material (quit laughing) in them. Nothing wrong if you're into that but if you aren't... then you probably won't enjoy this book as much. Now I will say that as I was reading the spanking stories I was starting to wonder about that sort of play and how incredibly erotic it sounds. So maybe I'm being turned to the dark side. LOL! I've bought everyone of her books "blind", meaning that I ordered them without looking through them because I do love Alison Tyler and her writers. I don't think I'll stop but I'll be reading the reviews a little more to find out more about a certain collection. My favorite stories in this collection are: - Shady Ways - College Reunion - Call Me Jenny - While She Was Dancing (my favorite)! - On Finding John's Porn

Real Erotica,

This review is from: C Is for Coeds (Erotic Alphabet) (Paperback)
What I love about this collection is the range of fantasies and tones from story to story, and the fact that you can fall into all of them. From the sweet, near-tenderness in Stein's "Sugar" to the quintessential hard-fast quickie in Nichols' "I Wanted Him to Feel It", to the shared hot discovery in Tyler's "On Finding John's Porn", every story offers another facet of sensuality to explore. This is the perfect collection for snowed-in weekends with someone sexy, or for sparking role-play ideas with your someone delicious.

College Seduction,
This review is from: C Is for Coeds (Erotic Alphabet) (Paperback)
C is for Coeds is an amazingly well-written erotic novel that focuses on a college theme. Some of them are about college reunions, others about vacations from college, but most just include students who are currently enrolled in college. The book is 142 pages long and includes twelve different stories. The book is about the size of the width and length of my hand which makes this a bit smaller than most Cleis Press books.
The stories vary in length from ten pages to twenty pages, but all of the stories are extremely well-written and arousing. What's nice about this collection is that, unlike other collections, I've found that it takes a bit of time to explain some of the character's intentions/feelings behind their actions. For example, in one of the stories, a middle-aged mother, during a seven-hour drive, starts flirting with her son's best friend. It leads to some obvious sexual tension, and while she berates herself for wanting him, the lust seems to be winning. The focus is still on the sex, but at least I know why the characters are doing what they're doing which makes it so much easier to get into the story. Out of the twelve stories, you already know the plot for one, so I'll give you two more (of my favorites): "While She Was Dancing" by Thomas S. Roche - A female decides to use her dormmates clothing while she's away, but everything ends up going wrong when she finds out how aroused she is in it. To complete her fantasy (and due to other oopsies), she sleeps her roommates bed. However, when her roommate's boyfriend comes in in the middle of the night and doesn't know she's not her dormmate, will she let him touch her? "Janelle's Spankology 101" by Michelle Houston - After this female's roommate confesses she's kinky, she has no problem spanking her boyfriend right in front of the female. However, this time, she invites the female to wield the paddle herself. While I think two of the stories weren't particularly arousing, they were still entertaining and enjoyable to read. I really love the entire book of stories, and I'm sincerely looking forward to reading the rest of the Alphabet Series.
