The best Coen Bros. book,
By j. olsen (minneapolis, mn) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Coen Brothers: The Story of Two American Filmmakers (Paperback)
Very smart and informative. No nonsense, clear, and straight-shooting writing style. Many interesting insights based on facts from in and around the different productions. Levine seems to have inside information, but is not snotty about it. I have gotten a lot out of this book by reading the specific chapters after watching the specific films- reference style. There are also several interesting background-info chapters. The only problem... the book was published in 2000, so only covers through "The Big Lebowski." Nonetheless, I've found this book to be better and more useful than other books on the films of the Coen Bros.
