The reviews had me curious enough to buy this book. I was severly disappointed with the information available. It seems Alec is rarely given the answers he seeks by these Aliens. Thus, leaving the reader in the same position.

Personally, I battled inside if this story was true or not. I looked at it from both angles. I checked out a reference he gave from the CFR and found it to be non-existant. Alec did not do his homework well on this point leaving me doubtful and wondering how many other holes I can find.

I would not recommend anyone buying this book, unless they want to use it to verify the information put in it....as Alec is so good at telling his reader to research all these things for themselves. I recommend going to the library and doing an inter-library loan for this book. And, most of this story can be gleened straight from the internet under UFO and different conspiracy theories. It didn't offer any new information.

The way I see it, Alec either held back good information or he's telling tall tales. Anyone who buys into what he's stating has obviously not searched deep enough within themselves nor read enough good research to see that this book will leave them with more questions than answers.

2.0 out of 5 stars What a Disappointment, January 17, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Coevolution: The True Story of a Man Taken for Ten Days to an Extraterrestrial Civilization (Paperback)
It was with excitement that I waited for this book to arrive. By the time I had finished it, I felt deflated and misled.

Although I am not trying to discredit Mr. Newald, his story seemed to ring very hollow to me. Several things left me saying "huh?", not the least of which were his numerous references to "other" information he had, but preferred not to share in this tome (saving it for another book, perhaps?). These pieces of information were related to his experience "there" and suspicious activity "here" after he was returned home.

For being gone, and usually conscious, for a period of 10 days on another planet (and/or in another time)the book is very short, only 193 pages.

This book may be superb for the neophyte, but those with a lot of UFO reading under their belt may very well be left feeling as I did: "Huh?"

5.0 out of 5 stars COEVOLUTION will take your breath away!, February 27, 1999

This review is from: Coevolution: The True Story of a Man Taken for Ten Days to an Extraterrestrial Civilization (Paperback)
COEVOLUTION by Alec Newald takes one's breath away! This book caused quite a sensation when it first came out in 1989 because Newald claimed that he had been abducted by members of an alien civilization where he claims he spent 10 days. The book has several professionally done drawings of aliens whom he met and locations he visited on their home world, called Haven. His adventure starts on a drive from Rotorua, New Zealand to the city of Auckland. Somewhere in the hills under an overcast sky, something very strange happens to him. We are propelled along in his adventure. He reminds us every now and again that he knows that his reader must be incredulous at what he writes. Nonetheless, he claims it is all true.

This book bears a great resemblance to Phillip Krapf's recent book, THE CONTACT HAS BEGUN. Both authors claim that they were firm non-believers in UFOs and ETs--until the abduction sequence occurred. Both claimed to have been abducted by benevolent aliens who represent themselves as having humankind's best interests at heart. Both claim that they are in the vanguard whose duty it is to inform the rest of us regarding paradigmatic changes about to confront all of us on planet Earth.

COEVOLUTION strikes me as an interesting a book as one will ever find in this genre. It sounds like science fiction, but there is a ring of truth to what Newald writes, no matter how outlandish it may sound. Slowly but surely, mankind is being prepared for a great revelation soon and Newald's book helps blow the cob webs out of people's parochial thinking. It's a great read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Changing your perspective of the past in the future!, March 31, 1999
By
This review is from: Coevolution: The True Story of a Man Taken for Ten Days to an Extraterrestrial Civilization (Paperback)
I found Alec's work instrumental in helping more awareness come to the forefront. It was amazing to read of one man's experiences that took him into a dimensional world that created a real back to the future scenario.

Alec found himself drving down a road in New Zealand one day in 89' to come across 10 missing days of his life. He would then in time be able to recall what may be the most enlightened information anyone could attain to in one lifetime.

What stunned me was the parallel between our moon and earth in unison with their planet and its companion. Well Parallel maybe a deceptive word here, maybe I should have said, IT WAS OUR MOON AND EARTH, but not of this time.

For the reader will see one of the most astounding dimensional shift/time travel stories that have ever been documented. A part of our past may have changed places with a part of our future, making our present, companions to a race of beings from the future that are our history.

I highly recommend everyone read this book, because whether you agree with what took place or not it will have a lasting effect upon you. From what little that I now know about Alec the Author of Co-Evolution, he was not one that was prone to wild imagination, in fact his world changed from a conservative view into the raising of his own internal consciousness.

Alec came to realize that he was connected to this in far more reaching ways than one might have first expected when reading this material. In fact, maybe we all are and just don't know it yet. It is time to open the vault of your mind and stretch your cord of enlightenment, and reach beyond your knowns into a world of the unknowns!

3.0 out of 5 stars entertaining but hard to buy, May 29, 2008
This review is from: Coevolution: The True Story of a Man Taken for Ten Days to an Extraterrestrial Civilization (Paperback)
This book seems extremely overpriced for a paperback under 200 pages. I've read several transcripts and found it entertaining but not worth shelling out 60 bucks for it. I found a DVD version for 20. Alien abduction cases are very hard to believe because even if the abductee seems credible there is rarely even any good circumstantial evidence available. I'm not an expert but one of the only cases I have even heard of with any good circumstantial evidence was the case in new england. An interracial couple actually remembered being stalked and cornered by a UFO without needing hypnosis. After hypnosis the wife remembered being told what star system the aliens were from. It happened to be one that wouldn't be discovered until ten years later. From what I've read so far there's nothing but Alec's word to take or leave. He does weave entertaining stories about how these people travel through time, have ruined there dimesion, and how they have contacted higher government/military and offered tech secrets to live here on earth. As much as I would like to believe him it sounds like he's either real or just stringing together pieces of the rendalshum forest incident, pyramids, alien hybrids, and whatever else he can think of.

Alec is honest, and this can be easily discerned immediately. This is the first book he's ever written, but it is pleasure to read. Why? It's not about "style". It's about honesty. He has succeeded in applying the simple principle of honesty in relating the FACTS about what he experienced and his own reaction to it. And what AMAZING facts. I will not go into any details, I will simply say this: I am so glad I found this book, and read it, because I now know things I never knew before, about a subject which our "leaders" don't want us to know anything about. This is perhaps among the top 2 of, say the 25 books I have read in this field. Thanks Alec, you lucky son of a gun.

5.0 out of 5 stars Makes a change, January 30, 2000
This review is from: Coevolution: The True Story of a Man Taken for Ten Days to an Extraterrestrial Civilization (Paperback)
Well I've read a few of these types of books, this one is different mostly because the author does not make to many judgement calls, does not pretend to be an expert or know what this is all about, I like that about the book. If the terrestrial after events really did happen, and I'm sure it would not take to much work by someone to prove that part one way or the other, if they did happen, it makes for great back up to an amazing event. Makes you wonder if the author knows more than he's telling! I think the last part about future technology is an eye opener and not a bad guess.

5.0 out of 5 stars Far to true for some that don't want to believe!, October 26, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Coevolution: The True Story of a Man Taken for Ten Days to an Extraterrestrial Civilization (Paperback)
As a information agent I travel the world and need to know as much as possible about as much as possible, because of that fact I know and have meet Alec the author of this book, I know what he has been through and I know many more details of his experience than are in the book, it is a true story from what I have seen and know, this will scare a great many! Alec does not call these people he meet by name but he knows who they are, and suggests certain factions of this planet have been at war with them for many years, drawing on my own personal knowledge he is right! Perhaps this is the first time for many years we have a chance to glimpse the truth of what aliens are all about because I find some other information on the market very hard to believe! whatever you believe to be true dismiss this book at your own cost.

I love this book as it was an interesting saga. Did loan it to a friend, but it is gone now. Hope the author writes a follow up. He did put some art work inside his book that has nice images. What an adventure and joyous journey. I would like to see this one made into a movie.

This is really going to be one of the best abduction books of all time. I have read all the ufo abduction books out there and this one is truly "the message" from our alien neighbors.
