Beans arrived and were promptly ground and brewed. Upon tasting I noticed the coffee was a fair bit weaker than I remember when visiting Sant'Eustachio in Rome. 3/4 through the can of beans I flipped over the can and noticed the date. 2007. Wow. Talk about super expired out dated beans.

Given the other reviewers postings -- I'd give up and just buy beans from somewhere else. It won't be the same but won't be as disappointing as these ones.

I came across espresso made from these beans at my friend's place in Amsterdam - who told me about this little cafe in Rome that sells the best coffee and how she lugged several pounds back to Amsterdam. A month later, and once I had returned home to San Francisco, I had invested in an espresso machine and the only thing missing were those beans. What do you - it's available through Amazon - just incredible! This espresso is for the serious drinker with taste buds that only appreciate exclusive Italian coffee.
