I like it a lot and it's very inexpensive compared to other porcelain sets I have seen(I have seen porcelain filter holders costing more than this whole set!). I bought Melitta no.1 filters and they work okay but overflow a little too easy for me, and they require more attention since you have to keep filling it over time to prevent overflow. I might try some no.2 cone filters, I have a feeling they might be the best fit. UPDATE: I did get some Melitta no.2 filters and they are the perfect fit, and that's what I will get in the future. Before I bought the no.2s, I used some Melitta no.4 cone filters and they work fine and prevent overflow but they do extend way above the rim. I don't recommend buying no.4s, but if you already have some you can use them to see how you like it before buying no.2s. Some people might perfer the no.4s if they don't aim very well. ;)

Just be aware it is a small coffee maker and that the coffee doesn't stay hot too long in it. I find myself drinking the first cup faster so that the second cup won't get cold. Of course, I could just poor the whole thing in a larger thermal coffee cup or make one cup at a time.

I find the coffee made via this little set does taste good, no plastic flavors from some conventional makers that some people can taste, or at least we think we can :). The water temperature and the size of your grind are crucial in getting the right flavor but well worth it. On my coffee grinder, I vary it between the cone and french press setting, of course this will vary depending on the grinder and personal preferences. The online sources that I have read say the water temp should be about 200F, and they recommend not letting it boil or at least for long, since this causes the air to go out of the water and will make it flat.

I am so happy with this little drip coffee maker and it worked perfectly. I bought the #2 coffee filters as the other reviewer recommended and they worked out just right.

I can only drink decaf which my husband does not like so this little coffee maker is perfect for me...also the 2 cups of coffee is all I need.

I fill the little pot with water then pour that into my water kettle so that I never have to worry about over-filling. Once my coffee is brewed I put it on a cup warmer to prevent it from getting cold.

For the price you cannot beat this little drip coffee maker. It was just what I was looking for.

I never write reviews although I very much appreciate reading them so I've decided to take the plunge.
This is without a doubt the most worthless thing I have ever owned. I actually wonder if the other
reviewers own or have ever used this item.

First of all the coffee comes out like water no matter what you do -- use more coffee, use two filters,
soak the coffee down before filling the filter, whatever. It has three huge holes. The water POURS
through, and, even better the thing is not made so that the holes are at the lowest point so the "coffee"
(read clear brownish water) gathers inside the filter holder, below the paper, runs to the outer edges,
drips into the lip of the opening at the top of the pot and then half of it runs down the
OUTSIDE of the pot and some by chance runs to the inside of the pot.

Due to the good reviews I suspected "user error" and have tried different grinds, two paper filters,
soaking the coffee with a small quantity of water before filling the filter cup, wetting down the
filter. I've used a Mellita plastic filter of the same sort (set over an ordinary coffee mug) for twenty
years so it's not as though I don't know what to expect.

This thing is ridiculous.I guess I'll let the little tea pot sit around gathering dust. The ceramic is
so thin and porous it won't keep a cup of tea warm as long as a decent mug with a saucer over it.

A simple alternative to electric, plastic, run-of-the-mill coffee makers. After experimenting, I found a fine grind works best -- about 2-1/2 tbs to two cups water. Total prep time to microwave the water, grind the beans, prep the filter, pour the water, and brew: about 4 minutes. I'm trying to move away from using plastics for food preparation and storage, so this was a good option for me. And, unless you drop and break it, it will last forever. Can't beat that.

Great gadget for those days when I am alone and want a quick cup of coffee! Quick, simple and easy to clean. I usually love to have French Press coffee but this is better for a single cup, plus it is "different". French Press coffee is thicker and oilier...really yummy and probably one of the best methods for making coffee, but coffee made with the manual drip method is cleaner and lighter. Still yummy but definitely different. I tend to like this early in the morning and French press coffee later in the day with desert. I do "bloom" the grounds first by lightly saturating them and waiting 30 seconds before pouring more water over them...an important trick. The filter does not have to be used with the pot, it can be used to brew directly into a teacup or a mug. I am glad that I decided to buy this and I love how easy it is to clean. I purchased the Melitta #2 filters and they work perfectly with this.
