5.0 out of 5 stars Nice and the price is right.
I like it a lot and it's very inexpensive compared to other porcelain sets I have seen(I have seen porcelain filter holders costing more than this whole set!). I bought Melitta no.1 filters and they work okay but overflow a little too easy for me, and they require more attention since you have to keep filling it over time to prevent overflow. I might try some no.2 cone...

3.0 out of 5 stars 19 oz is generous for the size of this cofee pot.
I have a plastic Melita filter which I was using with mugs at my house, but often I want two cups of coffee and so I brew into two mugs and put a saucer on the 2nd to keep it warm. I was looking for a porcelain pot into which I could make a couple cups of coffee and bring with me to my desk. This pot is much smaller than I expected. I measured its volume and this is 16...

I might try some no.2 cone filters, I have a feeling they might be the best fit. UPDATE: I did get some Melitta no.2 filters and they are the perfect fit, and that's what I will get in the future. Before I bought the no.2s, I used some Melitta no.4 cone filters and they work fine and prevent overflow but they do extend way above the rim. I don't recommend buying no.4s, but if you already have some you can use them to see how you like it before buying no.2s. Some people might perfer the no.4s if they don't aim very well. ;)

Just be aware it is a small coffee maker and that the coffee doesn't stay hot too long in it. I find myself drinking the first cup faster so that the second cup won't get cold. Of course, I could just poor the whole thing in a larger thermal coffee cup or make one cup at a time.

I find the coffee made via this little set does taste good, no plastic flavors from some conventional makers that some people can taste, or at least we think we can :). The water temperature and the size of your grind are crucial in getting the right flavor but well worth it. On my coffee grinder, I vary it between the cone and french press setting, of course this will vary depending on the grinder and personal preferences. The online sources that I have read say the water temp should be about 200F, and they recommend not letting it boil or at least for long, since this causes the air to go out of the water and will make it flat. I found different temperatures do change the flavor a fair amount; maybe I over heated it, not sure. I will order a thermometer in the future so I can experiment with different temperatures.

Also, for you Keurig owners, I own a Keurig Platinum B70, and I wanted to brew some different coffees without k-cups, and lucky for me when I remove the Keurig's spill tray this porcelain coffee maker fits nicely under the Keurig (which brews up to 192F on the highest setting), so now I can get my coffee fresh and fast! In the final analysis I find the Keurig k-cups are fine if I use cream and sugar, or if I want my coffee fast, but I am starting to drink my coffee black again, and I think it tastes better via this porcelain coffee maker, or possibly I haven't found the right k-cups for me. Anyway, I am very happy with this porcelain coffee maker!

I hope this was helpful. Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!, May 27, 2010

I am so happy with this little drip coffee maker and it worked perfectly. I bought the #2 coffee filters as the other reviewer recommended and they worked out just right.

I can only drink decaf which my husband does not like so this little coffee maker is perfect for me...also the 2 cups of coffee is all I need.

I fill the little pot with water then pour that into my water kettle so that I never have to worry about over-filling. Once my coffee is brewed I put it on a cup warmer to prevent it from getting cold.

For the price you cannot beat this little drip coffee maker. It was just what I was looking for.

I measured its volume and this is 16 oz if you really push it which means I can get 1.25 large mugs. I am on the fence about whether or not to return this... it really does not provide any new functionality to me. I knew I would not get two giant mugs out of this, but that missing 3 oz really making the difference for me. I say spend less on a plastic drip cone for your favorite mug.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delicious coffee for the discerning types., November 16, 2010

These provide the perfect sized mug of coffee at the exact temperature. A lot of people don't have the time for drip coffee or prefer the convenience of a quick brew machine. These are not for you.
To me personally, coffee is the perfect companion to revel in thought, exchange ideas, laugh with friends, watch the rain and accentuate any experience i care to remember. I don't care much for the hectic blur people miscall lives.

If any of the aforementioned sounds comforting, then these are the right match for you.

If it sounds nonsensical, then i'm sure there are hundreds of quick brew machines available on Amazon. Move along.

I love this small (1.5 cups American-sized serving) coffee pot! It's perfect for someone who needs one cup of hot coffee at a time. Easy to clean, nice looking, sturdy - well designed. I've had it for a few weeks and I am very happy with the purchase.

4.0 out of 5 stars Simple and easy alternative, January 16, 2012

This review is from: Coffee Maker - Drip with Pot, White Porcelain 19oz.
A simple alternative to electric, plastic, run-of-the-mill coffee makers. After experimenting, I found a fine grind works best -- about 2-1/2 tbs to two cups water. Total prep time to microwave the water, grind the beans, prep the filter, pour the water, and brew: about 4 minutes. I'm trying to move away from using plastics for food preparation and storage, so this was a good option for me. And, unless you drop and break it, it will last forever. Can't beat that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice product, December 26, 2011

This review is from: Coffee Maker - Drip with Pot, White Porcelain 19oz.
I purchased this item primarily for the porcelain coffee maker, but the pot is an added bonus. Both pieces are made of durable porcelain and feels very durable. I would imagine that it would survive a fall on the floor but don't feel like testing this theory voluntarily.

Others have complained about the capacity of the pot not really being 19oz. I don't know what methods they used, but I verified that it does in fact hold 19oz, which would be the MAXIMUM capacity the pot can hold. This means that it comes up to the lip where lid seats and is visible coming up the spout. I would imagine many people aren't comfortable brewing to that level, so expect to get about 16-18oz in the pot depending on your anxiety level. Either way, I get two cups of coffee out of this pot.

The coffee maker is not sized exclusively for use on the coffee pot and will fit most mugs and glasses. When used without the pot, I use the coffee maker on oversized(16oz - 22oz) mugs and thermos' without a problem and end up with really great tasting coffee.

I would say that that for the price, this item is a very good buy and performs well. I am impressed with the quality and expect it to last a very long time.

1.0 out of 5 stars Fragile handle, December 15, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Coffee Maker - Drip with Pot, White Porcelain 19oz.
Item arrived with broken handle.

Also, pot is only 16 ounces not 19 ounces.

#1 melitta filter is a little too small and #2 filter is a little too big.
