A metaphor for the political system??,

I love it. Choose one, choose the other... at the end of the day it doesn't matter because you're getting the exact same packaged product (i.e. they're both Donut Shop Blend).

I saw this and the McCain coffee before the election. As others have remarked, they are the same coffee with a different lid. I wrote a political review for the Obama coffee but thought the better of it and deleted it on principle. Surely, all American caffeine addicts can work together to find common grounds (sorry). After the election (and the drop in price), I actually ordered some of both. Yes they taste identical. This product has two features. The concept- have political themed coffee K-cups - was probably not one for the marketing textbooks. (How did they ever expect the product get fairly reviewed on a consumer-driven site like Amazon?) The other feature, the coffee, is pretty good and an excellent value as they are being closed out. The coffee is about the same as Dunkin Donuts coffee (which I use in the "My K-cup" self filling device), although it seems just a tad darker in roast. Both this and the McCain Blend are enjoyed by people in my office who do not like French Roast or other dark roasts and who are not yet accustomed to the heady aromatic flavors of Sumatras or Ethiopians. In short, either this or the McCain are good economical cups of joe (not the plumber).

Lets review the coffee, shall we???? These political remarks are as annoying as all of the commercials I've been innundated with for so long. It's Donut Shop, therefore it's a great cup of coffee. Perfect. Not sure why the Obama blend went back up to $10.00, while the McCain is still $8.00. It's the same stuff. Please note however, you get 24 in a box, instead of 25 per box of the Donut Shop.

This coffee was pleasantly good. I am not sure what I was expecting but found it strong but not overly so. It's a great blend.

As mentioned before, let's review the coffee, and leave the rest to the political forums....It's Coffee People's Donut Shop coffee. If you're partial to DD's coffee you'll enjoy this. A great morning cup, pleasantly strong but not overpowering, just the right blend to get you out the door in the morning. Enjoy!

Great coffee for mainstreet; not a favorite in the current White House,

This coffee reminds one of the good times experienced in the 90s when the national debt was going down and incomes were going up for the middle class. Coffee tasted good then and families could afford to spend a little extra for a treat at the donut shop. It's not the trickle down blend that only the rich can afford, like the one served in the White House today. Fresh and soothing, this is the coffee I want to drink for a long time.On a realistic note - this really is a good coffee and it is priced right. Both this version and the McCain version are the same blend with a fun box that's guaranteed to stimulate conversation. To really know how people feel about this coffee check out Coffee People K-Cup Extra Bold Donut Shop Coffee, 25-Count Boxes (Pack of 2)

Nice mild flavor. When you want a break from the heavy coffees, try this. It reaches across the aisle!

I bought the Obama Blend purely for entertainment value as I'm having dinner guests a week after the Obama inauguration and figured this would be a suitable conversation piece for coffee time. I tried one out today, and it was very good. I used the medium cup choice on the Keurig and it wasn't weak at all. (I use cream and sweetener in my coffee, so I'm going by that). It is "Coffee People" brand, the 'donut shop' variety. I like it and hope that bodes well for O's Presidency & our country's path as well!

Good Coffee - But Not Great,

The Obama Blend is actually The Coffee People's Doughnut Blend. It's a decent coffee. For those who like bold coffees, it probably isn't robust enough. However, if you like a semi-strong coffee this one will do the trick. For K-Cups, you can't beat the current $9 for 24 price. It's 15% cheaper than the the Emeril or Timothy coffees.

Decent, but I prefer Newman's,

This coffee (a repackaged version of the Donut Shop blend) is decent, and certainly drinkable, without too much acidity. I like it better than any of the Timothy's k-cups, but my "go to" cup is always going to be Newman's Special Bold, I think.
