5.0 out of 5 stars Comparison with Hawk brand
I have tried two different toilet seat covers: the "Coghlan's® Biodegradable Travel Toilet Seat Covers (10 pack)" currently for $6.99 and the "50 Disposable Toilet Seat Cover Travel Biodegradable !!" (by Hawk) currently for $9.38.

This purchase was influenced by the glowing previous reviews. The performance of this high-priced product is at-best mediocre and the product is lower in quality than the free products dispensed in restaurant bathrooms. It is difficult to unfold and the paper is very thin and tears easily. The poor product quality is inconsistent with the previous reviews.

5.0 out of 5 stars Comparison with Hawk brand, June 17, 2011

I have tried two different toilet seat covers: the "Coghlan's® Biodegradable Travel Toilet Seat Covers (10 pack)" currently for $6.99 and the "50 Disposable Toilet Seat Cover Travel Biodegradable !!" (by Hawk) currently for $9.38.

At first glance the "50 Disposable Toilet Seat Covers ..." seems to be the best buy (50 versus 10) - but it isn't. There are two major flaws with this seat cover:

1) The seat covers are made from flimsy paper that tears easily - requiring you to use two seat covers (the second one to cover the tears of the first), or cover the tears with toilet paper. This defeats the purpose of using the seat covers in the first place - convenience and speed of not having to cover the seat with multiple pieces of toilet paper.

2) The seat covers are folded too many times. It takes forever to unfold them (since you don't want to tear them in the process - but is almost impossible not to tear them). This is not good if you are in a hurry to use the toilet. Plus, with all the folds, they don't lay flat on the seat (many times they fall into the bowl).

Now the Coghlan's® Biodegradable Travel Toilet Seat Covers (10 pack) is another story:

1) it is made of a sturdier paper that doesn't tear as easily.

2) It is only folded a couple of times so it is easier to unfold and lay on the toilet.

Final thoughts:
The (Coghlan's® Biodegradable Travel Toilet Seat Covers (10 pack)" are the only seat covers I buy now.

I purchased these toilet seat covers after reading in a forum that they might be needed while traveling in Europe. I was so glad that I had them!

5.0 out of 5 stars Put one in your glove compartment, June 23, 2011

My Jaycees chapter put together a Filipino Fiesta (festival) at Kapiolani park by Waikiki. I needed to do a number two and went to the public toilet. It didn't supply toilet seat covers but I thought I was desperate enough to accept a clean looking seat. Afterwards I though of bringing my own toilet seat protectors which was available at Fisher Hawaii, an office supply store. But those things are too big to log around. I came up with the idea of buying portable toilet seat protectors, which I thought would be available at Amazon and I came upon this present product under review. I went to McKinley high school for the Friends of the library book sale and had to do a number two. I went to the stall and there were no toilet seat covers but was again desperate enough to accept a clean looking seat. I realized that I have these toilet seat covers in my glove box. I was pleased that it was there.

I have not have any problems with these toilet seat covers. The packaging is good, the top peels off and flush with the top of the folded seat covers, in such a way that preserves the integrity if the toilet seat covers. So that the rest of toilet seat cover is still neat until you run out.

The toilet seat covers themselves are quite good. They are folded into a square, and in a way that when you unfold them you tear usual three perforation in an intuitive way. I find sometimes that when you put the usual toilet seat cover it slips into the bowl. With these, if you choose the right side the fold creases will hold the shape and prevent it from going into the bowl. Another difference with the full size seat covers is that the back if these portable seat covers is a little shorter but not by much. And I checked, it does not make difference and is probably a good design consideration since the seat covers are designed for portability.

These toilet seat covers should be available at Walmart or at a local store, I have not checked and not aware. When I buy something from Amazon and a few dollars short of free saving shipping, I add this one to the cart. In closing, this is a good portable toilet seat protector. I have not tried other brands like the other reviewers but I think this deserves 5 stars.

4.0 out of 5 stars Handy, just in case, January 10, 2012

The only reason I gave this item four stars is because I haven't had an occasion to use them, so I don know if they will do the job or not. After seeing many public restrooms, I just feel more confident knowing they're in my glove box should I need them while I'm away from home.

I carried these Flushable, White Toilet Seat Covers with me while traveling in Turkey but I found out that most public toilets are "stand up" so they were useless, eventually I used them as hats to fend off the hot Turkish sun.
