I try to try out all my equipment within certain reason before I truly need it(hence don't want to waste it). What happens when you need it and can't get it to work(may as well not have bought it from the start). I've gotten them wet and they lit, and poured water on one and it stayed lit(warning be careful you have to completly smother match). These very well do their purpose and will when I need them in the future. I know some people say they can be made with finger nail polish remoover, it's just one thing less I have to worry about and know it's right on target. Besides they're not that expensive, "quit stepping over the dollar to pick up the dime."

These matches are inexpensive, light, easy to pack and they actually work! I bought several boxes of them for the express reason of testing them. There is no way I will take untested items such as this into the bush and then find they do not do the job I took them along for in the first place.I dunked these in water repeatedly; actually rather soaked them. There were no problems with any of the testing. Twice now a package has been with me on canoe trips and both times they received enough water to sink a small vessel. Both times they worked perfectly. They ignited with no hassle what so ever and the flame was good and strong. Like the other reviewer here though, I must warn you that these are beggars to try to put out...they need to be completely smothered...hey, putting them out is a lot more difficult that getting them fired up. If you are hiking, fishing, boating, camping, trekking....whatever, it is pretty silly and I might add dangerous to go out without a back-up fire system. I keep a box of these in each of my cars also. This is a good product.

The matches arrived as per promised in good condition.Unfortunately the glue holding the boxes together came apart with 5 minutes of opening the bag. This means not only is the box not water proof, it's not even "handling proof". The matches are not any good without the box, they are not "strike anywhere". You must have the box fo the matches to work. I am looking for a replacement now.

I cant believe I actually bought waterproof matches that are not waterproof, I took these matches camping, and after they got a little rain on them, the black spark things on the sides actually wiped off when I tried to light a match. These matches are total rip off with false advertisement. Someone should sue these scumbags.

Title says it. Will make my own next with clear nail polish with longer strike anywhere matches and store in granny's empty pill bottles.
