4.0 out of 5 stars not watertight, but does the job, September 6, 2009

Keeps our eggs intact in the cooler on camping trips. Kinda nice because we can jam this carton into a tightly packed cooler and not worry about losing eggs/making a big mess. We'd give it 5 stars, but i kind of expected this item to be watertight (when ice melts in the cooler and this carton is at the bottom, water will seep into the closed container; not sure if eggs can be stored in cold water for long periods of time, but our eggs the next morning were fine on the griddle). Even though the case isn't watertight, we haven't lost an egg to breakage, so this is doing its job. Plastic is pretty durable and it does rinse out cleanly.

5.0 out of 5 stars simple, cheap, works great, April 10, 2011

i actually bought one of these locally at a W-store for $2.88 (sorry amazon). I took this on an army field exercise recently and it really surprised me. I put it in my small cooler (had to cut the handle off to get it to fit) and after 2 days in the back of a humvee bouncing around off-road, not one egg had cracked.

5.0 out of 5 stars It works!, December 31, 2010

We took this camping with us, and it works really well. I have two coolers, one for food, and the other for drinks. I put the eggs near the bottom so they would stay cold. With everything layered on top, not one egg was broken. A good product and worth spending money on because there is nothing like eating eggs in the morning when camping!

I ordered this because so many people are raising chickens these days. My mom and my boss are always given away eggs. These are really handy and I don't have to worry about the eggs getting smashed in the process.

These were not too expensive and worked great in the cooler...none of my eggs got cracked or damaged. :)I would reccomend buying at least 3 if you are camping with a big group.
