This review is from: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Impulsive Children, Second Edition (Hardcover)
I bought this book used, marked as "good" condition. The cover was just slightly creased, with very minimal writing (personally, I thought the writing was actually information/interesting!). This book is HIGHLY interesting and informative. It talks about ADHD, ADD, and some other somewhat-related disorders. I bought it to learn about handling ADD, but I was actually engrossed in the book overall. Things are explained really well, and it is interesting to somebody without any experience with or without the disorder. Basically, I'm glad I bought this book!

I needed some CBT exercises and education since that is the primary modality where I currently work, and something that I will have to utilize at times in therapy due to my clientele.I found the text to be dry at times (you have to read it in chunks), but it provided some useful examples and exercises of how to help children cope with frustration and impulse management. I'm giving it 4 stars for the dryness, I don't think a text has to be dry to be educational. Otherwise, useful and worth getting. |
