Great Book,
This review is from: Cognitive Psychology: Applying The Science Of The Mind (2nd Edition) (Hardcover)
This book is great because it uses summaries and vocabulary at the end of each chapter. On top of that, it has review questions through the book that help as well. The only real down-side I had with this book is that it has some activities in it that are unrealistic.

Has anyone used this text while the rest o the class used the 7th edition and been perfectly okay? Was just wondering if it would work or if the differences are too much to follow...
Thanks!

After purchasing and reading many books on psychology, I have come to appreciate the ones that are well-written, packed with years of research, and are replete with copious information. This book falls a bit short of what I've come to expect. It's based primarly on controlled research (experiments), but does provide history, context, and a plethora of theories which characterize psychology and its various disciplines. It succeeds best in providing a basic overview of cognitive processes, but if you expect more, explore other options.

Product was as promised with minimal highlighting. Spine was broken and I was afraid that the pages would begin to fall out. I resolved the issue myself without having to send the book back. Returns were easy enough I just could not afford to not have the book at my disposal being classes had begun.

This is an excellent cognitive text. There is no pleasing the less-motivated student. I highly recommend this as an excellent text on memory.

A skewed interpretation. Very Biased!,

This review is from: Cognitive Psychology: Applying The Science Of The Mind (2nd Edition) (Hardcover)
This book presents data and historical facts of psychology in a very skewed manner. The writter seems to be completely in love with several theories in Cognitive Psychlogy and ignores information which contradicts or places serious doubt on his interpretation of experiments and theories.
I would recommend that no one use this book for instructional purposes. There are several other Cognitive Psychology books that stick to the facts or at least are more objective.
