A stunning achievement
This is a tour de force. Five discipines are presented, both historically and currently, illuminating the current state of the cognitive sciences and how these disciplines got to their present levels of achievement.

Informative book (will not get into details)
This is an informative book, and a rather nice one. I didn't like the author's prose, but that really is a matter of taste. Don't expect to learn anything deeply technical or to start doing Cog. Sci. research after reading this -- this book will actually show you where to go if you want to start working with Cog. Sci.
